ময়মনসিংহ জেলার হালুয়াঘাট থেকে নয় কিলোমিটার দূরে কড়ইতলী স্থলবন্দর। এখান থেকে মেঘালয়ের পাহাড়ের দূরত্ব কয়েকশত গজ। দূর থেকে দেখে মনে হয় সবুজ পাহাড়ের বুকে নির্মিত স্থলবন্দরটি। ভারতের অংশে মেঘালয় রাজ্যের তূড়া জেলায় গান্ধীনগর গাছুয়াপাড়া শুল্ক স্টেশন অবস্থিত। ১৯৭৯ সালে কড়ইতলী স্থলবন্দর দিয়ে ভারতীয় কয়লা আমদানি শুরু হয়। এটি একটি কয়লার বন্দর। প্রতিদিন ভারতের মেঘালয় রাজ্য থেকে অসংখ্য ট্রাকভর্তি কয়লা এসে এই স্থলবন্দরে খালাস হয়।
সীমান্তঘেঁষা কড়ইতলী স্থলবন্দর এর পাশেই কড়ইতলী পার্ক। প্রায় ৫ একর জায়গার ওপর গড়ে তোলা এই পার্কে প্রতিদিন দর্শনার্থীদের ভীড় লেগেই থাকে।
হালুয়াঘাট থেকে পাঁচ কিলোমিটার দূরে গোবরাকুড়া স্থলবন্দর। ১৯৯৭ সালে গোবরাকুড়া স্থলবন্দর দিয়ে ভারতীয় কয়লা আমদানি শুরু হয়। ২০১২ সালের ১৫ সেপ্টেরম্বর হালুয়াঘাট শুল্ক স্থলবন্দরটিকে পূর্ণাঙ্গ স্থলবন্দরে উন্নীত করা হয়।
Haluaghat Upazila is one of the remotest Upazila of Mymensingh district. It is 54 kms North from the district head quarter. After revolution in Kachar and Monipur state, a number of influential persons permeated and started permanently settled in the north part of Mymensingh district. An independent state of Kuch community got-up in 1661 and established it's capital city near the three-direction sourrounded Dorsha river which is concepted as Kacarkha Digi( a bigger pond). Dorsha river was an important water-route and almost all affairs were accomplished through this route. It is mentionable that hal chasi(farmers who use plough) used this venue(ghat) as the center for their day-to-day jobs. On the other hand, it is uttered by the local people that this ghat(venue) was controlled by an eminent person named "Halua". Probably, thus the name of "Haluaghat" came to existenc. Business and trades facilities are insignificant in this Upazila. Coals from different pits/mine of India are imported through Depots namely Gobrakura as well as Koroitoly. A number of brick-fields possessors of Bangladesh have access to these depots. Some local together with outside importers import coal in this route and supply to brick-fields of different parts of the country. These Depots employed many local labors and thus this business-point has a magnitude to the local people. A variety of Vegetables especially korona and Jingga cultivate at the nearest villages of India.
