Sold my K3 1800 in anticipation of the K4 making improvements, you did not disappoint. Really hoping for day pack around the 2200 size with zipper layouts comparable to the new 5000. Looks Bad Ass...

dang, it comes out ON my birthday. and ive been looking for a super high quality bag that I'll only need one of ever.

Super well thought out. I'm in the market for a new pack this season and have been researching options and honestly hadn't looked at any Exo packs until I watched the Mindful Hunter review on it, and the k4 5000 went from not on the list at all, to the top of the list. Looks like a fantastic, purpose built, product! 🙌

Frames and packs look great guys. Just wondering if they come with webbing keepers for the excess straps.

We include Strap Keepers on the frame compression straps. You can purchase additional Strap Keepers at a minimal cost if you want to use them on the bag's webbing. We don't include them on the bag by default, since many of our users don't prefer to run them and feel that they get in the way of making quick adjustments.

Love the new system BUT could you please add a water bladder hose retention on one or both sides of the shoulder harness?! It drives me crazy the top brands like Exo, Stone, IA and Kifaru don't come standard with such a simple item.

Hey Stephen. We have tried a lot of different methods for bladder hose retention, and have also noticed that many of our customers have different preferences on what type of retention they want. The simplest, most reliable method is to just tuck the mouth piece between the webbing and the harness fabric/foam. This eliminates any bulk, any failure point, and is dead-simple. Many of the hardware retention clips are prone to breaking, and/or get in the way at times. If you want hardware for hose retention, there are countless option out there that are very affordable and work extremely well on our pack harness.

Is the side pocket pleated to the outside of the pocket or to the inside of the bag like the 1800 k3? Thanks

Great question. All of the full-length side pockets on our K4 bags pleat to the outside, ensuring that the side pocket's volume is not affected by how full the main bag may be.

This one is most likely going to be your best seller just like the 4800 K3 was. If I were in the market for a new pack this would be the one I’d go with in your lineup. Aside from the good overall size that is versatile I like the beaver 🦫 tail style opening to go along with the other features that are like the other packs. Great walkthrough once again Steve.

How come the other 2 packs dont have the horse shoe door on them

Good question. Simply put, not everyone prefers the horseshoe zip access. We have hundreds of testers, and thousands of pack customers, and personal preference heavily influences which zip style is desired. Both methods provide excellent access to the main bag. The straight zipper does save weight and complexity, so it is a better fit for the more minimal 3600, and also helps keep the weight down on the large 7200.

The K4 5000 bag itself does share a lot of similarities with the K3 4800 bag, although there are some changes - such as the full-length zippered side pockets and the dual-compartment lower side stretch pockets. The biggest differences between K3 and K4 is in the design and performance of the all-new K4 Frame.
