K30 Trail Build, Jeep Cherokee XJ Steering Shaft Upgrade, and More!
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
This week we modify a Jeep Cherokee XJ steering shaft to upgrade the steering on the 1982 Chevrolet K30 Squarebody trail build. We also throw in some bomus footage of installing the new brake master cylinder, finally! #squarebody #chevrolet #k30 #k20 #k10 #c10 #c20 #c30 #offroad #garagebuilt #shop

I grabbed one off xj grand Cherokee and I guess that's the wrong one lol. The clamp joint that goes to the firewall side is way to small to slide over the stub from steering column... Guess I need one off just xj
Boise, Idaho. 1982 Chevrolet C30. I just purchased a rag joint, but I found the u-joint upgrade info while searching for steering shaft installation videos. Thanks for posting!

Go to Arizona they said, go to the desert they said, it will be warm they said. They lied! Little by little. Good job on the steering. Now for all the fiddley bits.😁 From Gsinesville, GA.

Glad you got those breaks done. Vett work should be fun...Enjoy the snow, at least you have flat roads, not hilly ones like Seattle. Where is Willow?

So how is the truck now that you have taken the rag joint out? The rag join was designed to help remove vibrations from the road causing your hands to become fatigue.

I haven't driven the truck enough yet to tell you how it performs. But I can guarantee that you wouldn't notice fatigue, that was old technology that absolutely no one use uses any more.
Great content as always looking forward to seeing it driving around , if you want to go a cheaper route on wheels and tires maybe some military 37's on a 16.5 rim like the hummer surplus places have them cheap . Just a thought that's what I have on my 69

Thanks. Those military tires are a good option

Will the Hummer rims fit, or do you need 16.5 Chevy rims?

@@abccustomz2 84-94 is supposed to be all the same. I probably chose ‘92 because I used to own one.
You’re scaring me on your steering. Splines and notches are to hold the shaft on the stub and not spin. Imagine driving and the column falls off or just spins.
