K1 Speed Wilmington - Idiot Driver (Language)

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Interesting parts begin at about 4:10 Putting along nicely setting fast times and came across this absolute genius. Did nothing in any that would have warranted the type of driving he demonstrated. In fact, I gave him PLENTY of room even when he dive bombed me from kartlengths back.
He was "trying to win" a race which was only based on lap time and one in which I was lapping him! Friends at the end cleaned up the mess and provided some ACTUAL racing :)

This is an adult race, the junior karts are much different. What a fucking stupid comment, you’ve clearly never been to K1 Speed. You spend close to $20 per race, so you want to get the experience and times you desire, especially from racing with other *ADULTS* and then some fuckhead goes and rams you like it’s Mario Kart Deluxe ruining your pace and lap times you *paid* for to get a chance to improve. You’re telling me you wouldn’t be pissed?

Smooth out your braking, release then accelerate out of the turns. You'd be surprised how the laps where you work the least are your fastest.

  • @ronmechanic2277

the problem is in the karts as well as the track layout. these karts a poorly maintained. god only knows how they set tire pressures or is anyone has even bothered to find the right settings. if these karts have a solid rear axle (which i think they do) then you need the kart to really jack over or the rear will just keep pushing it straight. there are ways to set up a kart to do this - guarantee you they haven't a clue, probably don't even care. watching the vids you can see the fronts just slide away to a straight line. indication of no front grip. another big issue is that stupid steering wheel - WAAAAY too small. you get no leverage and fighting the front setup exhausts you quickly. the really big problem is poor management that just doesn't care or doesn't know. but what can you expect from a big corporation. i've been to 3 of the facilities and it's all the same. fancy murals, racecar in lobby, poor karts, porr staff, poor management

I think this video shows you have a lot to work on. Finding places to pass on a track, before the race, or dynamically, during the race should be something you find fun and enjoyable. It's practically what every racer lives for. If you can't have fun doing something you love, and doing it clean, I just don't see that individual having what it takes to succeed in the sport. You can be the fiercest competitor out there, and not have to show it any other way than results and sportsmanship. I look through the corners like you do on a bike at these things. half the time I'm not even looking where I'm going. I'm calculating passes that will be approaching me

To people saying it’s stupid to wear gloves, the karts don’t have power steering and when I race with my friends it actually rubs the skin off all of our hands. The gloves are actually a good idea.

I got T-Bone 4 times by the same person and that same person t-bone my nephew and my sister. I was hopping for a penalty black flag to come out and nothing. I had a talk with the official and I stated it's a safety concern. The official agree and they deducted -6 points at the person.

Those of you saying this was good racing, watch again. The other driver deliberately gets side ways and stops causing the main drive per to stop. Needless braking. If you watch. The jerk didn't screw with the other guy that passed him

vir123456 johnson if I was you I'd brake, when you enter a corner while accelerating the weight (and thus your grip) of your kart will mostly be on your rear wheels, if you (briefly) brake, the weight will shift to your front wheels so you have more grip on your front wheels and being able to take the corner faster.

Having driven this track a couple of times, i will admit it can be extremely tough to pass slower cars as the track is narrow and passing zones are very small. Even more difficult when you have drivers out there who are not aware of racing lines or letting faster traffic go by. I honestly slam into people all the time (by accident) who oversteer going into that first hair pin, and if you cant get by them there, it's kinda hard to pass unless they oversteer the second hairpin on understeer the last turn before the short front strait. They're short laps ppl, like 22-23 seconds. And yes, I do dawn a nicely worn pair of red Alpinestars Karting gloves I picked up for $40 about 5 years ago to save my poor hands from bleeding and soreness for days following :)
