This is how a singer...a *real* singer does it. She's not heavily made up. She doesn't have her butt hanging out. She doesn't have to turn every single note into 5 notes. She doesn't have any dance moves or backing dancers. There are no flashing lights. Only the most glorious female voice on the planet. That's all.

K.D. Lang had a tough time getting a break in the music or show business because she admitted she was Lesbian as if that made any difference in her talented singing. Many thanks to Roy Orbison for giving her many breaks on his show as he saw her talent As an auto motive teacher for the last 20 years working, my opening statement to new students was, BLACK, WHITE, GRAY or Gay it makes no difference what you are, but what you can do or achieve. She is one of the best singer nowadays and for a long time past. She sounds even better as time goes on Thank you. George Traganos

(Is this the Italian section?) Every time I listen to this song, I always play the ending part - "over you" - several times. I can't believe her amazing lung capacity. She really belts that out, and she does it for 16 seconds without taking a breath. 16 seconds may not sound like much, but try expelling your air for 16 seconds straight - and at a high volume! There aren't very many people that can do that. She's fantastic!

Pure genius of the late great epic legendary Roy Orbison, to do this duet, choosing only 1 singer he allowed the privilege of singing his masterpiece song "Crying", personally choosing kd to join him in the rerecording of Crying, knowing that hands down, no one's voice was as magical, stunning, mind-blowing, out and out astounding, and just perfect to sing Crying in such a beautiful, aching, haunting, and masterful rendition!! @evelynmulvaney173 I 💯👍 agree. I always loved this Roy Orbison song, then came the duet version...1st time I heard or saw KD Lang perform! I think that duet "Crying" with Roy, his band, and (? newcomer) KD Lange, was on the night time Jay Leno show. 😲🙌🌞🤩 Decades later, I still recall being blown away by her voice! Although she was very young and most likely unknown by the majority of us here in the States, (U.S.A) her voice was beyond anyone I had ever heard! I was blown away! Especially when I realized that she was such a gifted humble singer, she held back some of her vocal capabilities out of respect, manners, and humbled adoration for the amazing, late & great Mr. Roy Orbison, to show case her (truly stunning) vocal capabilities🤩 After all, that song "Crying" was a Roy Orbison mega hit. If some young uprising star was lucky enough to be taken in under the wing of a gifted, famous, world renowned, singer/ song writer, wouldn't have too wise a move to upstage him with his songs😱🥴 Even though KD reigned in her truly magical haunting vocal capabilities with that duet, she still managed to give a stunning and memorable duet debut with Roy Orbison and his song "Crying". 9🙌💫👏

She was just beginning to get famous when she appeared on TV at the Songwriters Hall of Fame at Radio City. She obviously blew the roof off the place and a star was born. The crowd's reaction says it all.

Adele is no K.D. Lang and never will be. Adele doesn't have anywhere near the voice that Lang has.

K D is simply a gorgeous lady with a heavenly voice which just flows without exertion. So natural and she sings, she doesn’t shout to be heard, like many singers do. Nothing is forced, she has a true gift of a voice that cannot be replicated anywhere, anytime. Her voice is her instrument and she uses it well. Keep singing, dear one, I will always be listening......xx
