The charts were also so mixed with genres. You could find pop, rock, soft rock, R&B, funk, disco all on the charts right into the Eighties.
We lived in the best color-- blind times of disco and r&b music. Hands down. 🥳👍

That is an awesome story about your mom and aunt with the kids dancing. What family is all about!
KC is still performing. He had retired but one of his backup singers convinced him to tour again. He is older and a little heavier but the music holds up to this day and will get your "Bootie " up and dancing.

Back then in those wonderful happy days,KC & the Sunshine Band were on everyone’s party playlist. The parties,oh the parties, and not a phone in sight, just people enjoying themselves. Damn,I miss the 70’s.
4Words" I'm Your Boogie Man".Guaranteed to get Asia dancing.
Sounds like it might be time for a disco night live.
70's horn sections are one of God's greatest creations.
A truly happy song that makes everyone smile. When my grandchild opens his mouth real wide for a favorite bite of food I sing this at him, "That's the thing you like it, uh ha, oh ha!" LOL
Break out the roller skates! And dig that bass line and those horns! When you're ready for more from KC & The Sunshine Band check out some of these -- "Keep It Comin' Love", "Boogie Shoes", "Shake Your Booty", and "Get Down Tonight".

15 years old and life was amazing! Large group of friends that all sang this together whenever we heard it!! 1975 and I have GREAT memories. Smiling all the way through this!
Check out one of their top hits Get Down Tonight. It's FIRE FIRE!✌
I was in high school when this came out. We got down!💃
Back In The Day,, Many High School Bands Covered This Song With The Dance Moves & Everything..My High School Did & They Did A Great Job.
Gotta listen to "I'm your boogie man" and " Please don't go". They have a lot of great songs

Oh, yeah! Killer horn section, those sweet backup vocals...I miss this era of music so much. The soundtrack of my youth. Thanks for the listen and reaction!
I don't even want to know anyone who doesn't move and smile when watching/listening to this.
Takes me back to childhood, thanks
KC and these guys jam then and still sounds good''!!! Y'all hold on while I grow my Afro!!!
I remember this song being popular in clubs in Liverpool in the 1970s.
Class of 1975, jammed hard to this song.
You know I was jammin on this at the skating rink, back in the late 70s when i was in middle school.
My first favorite band growing up!
It's impossible to sit still with this song. But most of their songs are like this. The Miami sound!
Oh goodness we would roller skate to this on Saturday morning and rock it at the club Saturday nights
You can't stand still when you listen to this , I remember watching Soul Train every weekend when I was a kid in the 70's , what a great era for music , all genres were great !
Other big hits (meaning big-sellers that were played on the radio a lot) from KC and the Sunshine Band were "Get Down Tonight" (1975), "Shake Your Booty" (1976), and "I'm Your Boogie Man" (1976). Since y'all liked this, you would probably also like the group Heatwave from this time period; they had big radio hits with "Boogie Nights" (1976) and "The Groove Line" (1977), and Brick would probably also appeal to you, with hits like "Dazz" (1976) and "Dusic" (1977), all with that seventies disco-funk sound that gets you moving.

Those were the best days of my life. Used to listed to KSOL in the bay area back in the 70's. Most everyone I knew at the time was listening to KFRC though. Won a dance contest to "Groove Line" in 77 maybe a day or two after it debuted. And many dances closed to their other hit in 78, "Always and forever".

She's a brick....house, She's Mighty Mighty, just letting in all hang out. I didn't exactly know what it meant hearing on the radio on the way to grade school, but it was a good thing apparently.
Here's to hoping we get to see more reactions to KC & The Sunshine Band.
Actually the dance we did to this song was called The Bump. "Tons O' Fun" on the dance floor with that one. 👍
I wish I could ❤ this reaction so good so fun
I was dancing my heart and ass off every time I heard this song......in dance clubs EVERY WHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was in College and we my friends and I were getting down with the "FUNK!!!" Y'All!!!!!! Man..............wish you guys were there!!!!!!
I love them! I think my favorite is "Get Down Tonight" or "Boogy Man"
I worked at Disney World after high school (1978) and I was in my costume walking through the tunnels and he and the band walked up beside me and talked with me the whole time. Really nice guys.
Ol 5-heads😂😂😂 Yes, he definitely shoulda said that, caught me completely off guard and was hilarious🤗😉keep it up y'all🤘🏼
I was 10yrs old in 75. This jam is so ingrained in my brain!
One of my favorite songs as a child (9 yo) and still is. Please react to their other songs: Boogie Man, Get Down Tonight, and Shake Your Booty
Favorite song by them is I'm Your Boogie Man (or us the title just Boogie Man) and Rob Zombie did an awesome cover of it.
I loved this song as a kid🤣😁I loved Soul Train! 😘
ahhh, my first ever concert. I was just a wee lad and our parents took us to the Kansas City Worlds of Fun Amusement Park and KC and the Sunshine Band played at the amphitheater. Suzanne Summers of Threes Company fame and later the Thigh Master spokesperson opened up for them.
EVERY body was on the dance floor when this track was played in the clubs!!!!!
KC was "Casey" - and yes he brought together an amazing band. So much fun - a disco pioneer. I love KC's voice, but it's the drums, congas, backup singers, horn section, guitars... they bring it all together and give it that sound. They called it "disco", but I think it was "funk." But definitions don't really matter - KC & The Sunshine Band (name for Florida, the Sunshine State, where they got together) was so much fun. P.S. Back in the day, I saw them on "Soul Train" (the video here) and also on "American Bandstand." That says a lot right there about how they crossed over genres and racial lines. That was so good for all!
I'm laughing so hard, lol, with your comments. But seriously, this video is amazing to watch for its historical and cultural value...like going back through a time machine. Look how dynamic all the performers are...and the clothes! How much fun did we have back then? What a happy, uplifting song, too.🎵🎶
I grew up in late 60s 70s too. This music holds up to the test of time!! Can't say that about the shit now.

🤔🤔Um, yes, it would be insane to say "sh!t" being created today stands the test of time due to the simple fact that it's NEW, & hasn't had the time to test how it stands. 😬 However, there is music being created today that's far better than the sunshine band & will w/o a doubt stand up over time. Hey you guys reminded me of back when I saw a band in the Flint Michigan area. So the core of the band like the drums and the bass and the guitar player stayed on the stage but the horn section walked around as they played. It was a trip because part of the music was coming from the stage and then part of it was walking around and surrounding you it was pretty cool
1975... memorable for me. I was in the military (Air Force) and my first child was born. I was living in Miami,FL then and they were on the radio almost all the time for a few years. Memories! :)
I was 10 when this came out and we danced like crazy to all their songs! ❤️ 🎶
This is the first song that I had ever heard by K.C. And The Sunshine Band. And it's pure solid gold for making you want to move your feet.

The Disco Era was amazing. Many of these songs have really stood the test of time.
Hell yea, loved all their hits. Go BJ go!!
I saw them around 76 at Six Flags in St Louis Mo., they were great!!! everyone was on their feet the whole time. This song was probably their biggest hit and took over like Old Town Road did a couple of years ago.
"Keep It Coming Love" is another of their tracks that when I hear it even now after all these years, I have to listen to it a second time, and it'll be looping in my head all days.
We had the best dance music in the 70's. The bands had horn sections, maracas, tambourines, bongo drums, regular drums, pianos, bass guitars, regular guitars. It was fun, feel good music! You couldn't help moving once the music came on.💃🕺Dancing the soul trains were so fun! Love watching you younger people enjoying the awesome music we grew up with.❤🥰
1975 wow thats the year i met my wife. This is the music we dance to.
Growing up in the 70's was the best time. So many bands, so many genre's great music.
They had many good upbeat songs mid 70s or so. Harry Casey is underated to me. Wrote songs, probably a few for the band. Good time music indeed!
This band birthed a whole movement in music. They put Disco on the map along with Earth, Wind and Fire, Pointer Sisters, Parliament Funkadelic. There can be no dance CD that doesn't include at least one or two KC & Sunshine Band songs.
If you want to hear a brother really work with a trombone, look up a gentleman from New Orleans named Trombone Shorty. Absolutely a master of his trade.
It says in my diary from when I was 11 that this Is my favorite song!
I was 18 when this was "the thing" and it WAS an absolute blast! Y'all are an absolute joy to watch do these reactions. I laugh so hard when y'all get going. Thanks so much! God bless!
Shoooot!! the dancing with the horns and all that you see in marching bands now came from back in the day!! You didn't know Lol!!!
You can't sit down when their hits come on.
"I'm Your Boogie Man" a must!
BJ, you are hilarious! "Big forehead" Made me laugh so hard I was doubled over! Love you guys! Peace!✌👌🤘🤟👊
Next up has to be "I'm Your Boogie Man" from 1977. It's such a great song with the best horns . 🌞
I saw them live in the 70's, they were awesome!!! You couldn't take your eyes off the horn section!! I don't think we sat down the entire concert! Love your reaction!!!
The sounds of my childhood. I saw them in concert a few years ago. They sound exactly the same! 💕 Now please listen to “ Get down tonight”!!! 💕💕
THE "70's" WAS AWESOME FOR ALL TYPES OF MUSIC!! 😍😁
I remember this song when it came out. My older sister all went to the concert. I was WAY to young, but I remember the outfits and Bell bottom clacks and the Poet blouses with big colliers and frilly sleeves. They looked so good. If you liked this one have a listen to a One hit wonder that was one of the first to really make me notice Music. Silver Convention - Fly Robin Fly (1975).
