K-1 Andy's Road to Champion*
Small documentery of Andy Hug's Road to Champions in 1996: The K-1 Grand Prix. This was the year where he won the GP Championship Belt and the beginning reign of the late Andy Hug.
After having a tough year in 1995(loosing twice to Mike Bernardo and losing to Ernesto Hoost), Andy Hug better prepares himself to have an undefeated record in 1996. View the small documentary of a dominant start in 1996 where Andy goes for the belt.

    I practiced and threw axe kicks just because of him. I surprised more than one opponent, nobody expect axe kicks from an opponent.

    unocinco200 I train Muay Thai in Japan and the axe kick is called the Andy Kick at our gym. When Andy passed away I was here in Tokyo and we were all heart broken, he loved Japan and we loved him.

    Andy fought 4 times in 2000, and won all four. His final fight was one month prior to his death from Acute Leukemia. This world only see's a warrior with the making's of Andy Hug every once in a great while. He had more heart than anyone in K1, ever.

    Andy could punch with both hands in all directions, and kick equally well in all directions. He was your worst nightmare in the ring.

    I feel like bonjasky was because he did things no one else did. Andy was a one of a kind too. Just as technical as CC but able to brawl too

    if Andy never did anything else I just give him props for going toe to toe with Erdesto Hoost. That guy was a beast. Hoost absolutely terrified opponents with his strength andcspeed

    when i am watching Andy hug, i everytime get goose bumps, and iam not far away from crying like a Baby... i remember when he dies i saw his Little son seya and this broke my heart, i can still feel it today … my dad also dies when i was a Little Boy... RIP hero

    Thank you Andy Hug for the inspiration. There wont be another athlete competing on his level while dealing with this kind of health issue. I wish i had half of his courage and strenght.

    What you also have to consider is how long Andy had been doing weights for along side his martial arts. There's photo's of Andy at 16 years old with a developed physique. He would have been at least 31-32 in this video
