Football player also get hit every play, whereas most hockey players only get seriously hit a couple times each game. There's a reason why the NFL season is only 17 games...

Just line changing makes it unique. I don’t know of any of the other major team sports that allow you to not only make substitutions while the game clock is still running, you often substitute *entire* lines and every 45 seconds.

keep in mind that he’s praising his experience during a 6-2 blowout. Multiply everything he said by 100 when it’s a close game, or a game 7. Give an NHL game a try if you haven’t. It’s one of the best sports out there, easily.

NHL is an amazing sport. Incredible tough athletes, amazing skills, very exciting environment and they actually fight which is always crazy cool!

Even Charles Barkley says playoff hockey is the best and is amusingly friends with Lightning coach Jon Cooper.

I love the other sports , but the NHL is next level in person and it would be a dream to see a playoff game in person.

But I been watching again since they started the come back on the pens, even got my granny who's usually a basketball fan to watch game 7 of that & what a thriller that was. Then she watched the whole series with the Canes & she is *ALL* the way in with the lightning series, I think I made my grandma a #Rangers fan which is fitting since we are from NYC even tho we live in the south at the moment

It's like the Pegula family, except for the hockey team being the good one and the other team being shaky at best.

There is nothing like a NY Ranger playoff hockey game and us fans they are the most underappreciated athletes in all of sports most have no idea what they are missing

Also. Here's a fun little hobby. At the end of the season, teams release their final injury reports. Read about some of the injuries these guys play with. It's absolutely insane.

I'm born '86 from Manhattan NYC n grew up to the Knicks n NYG. Yes I cried when the Giants beat the Pats twice for the Superbowl. I'll nvr forget Alan Houston hugging Jeff Van Gundy when the Knicks were going to the '99 NBA Finals. Boy but lemme tell you in 2013 the greatest Sports epiphany happened to me n that is the NHL! God Bless hockey n there is no Sporting Environment like it! Get yourself to a hockey game asap! I now go to about 10 hockey games a year (even more fun when you travel to other cities).

NHL games are the best in person of the 4 and it isn’t close. NFL is the best to watch on TV by a wide margin, so it will always be king.

jwill much respect my guy i love all the main american sports basketball baseball football just something about hockey that hits different glad to see the sport i love most getting some respect.. crazy how i hear people can't watch hockey on tv but when they go to a live game they love it

I told ya ppl would be switching on the stress of the playoff nba to adrenaline rush fun of playoff hockey. Great adjustment made by Jay Williams as a sport fan.

When playoffs come around, NHL is on another level. But the others saying “oh well talk about football” im sorry football will always be my 4th. Its june enjoy the playoffs until mid june it will just be baseball. THEN talk football lol.

I don't even watch football anymore, liked playing a little hoops but not watching it and I was sort of born with a catcher's mitt and a baseball but baseball took a back seat when I watched the first hockey game on TV in NJ when I came to the US, literally something I had never seen before, Hockey.

The thing with hockey is just seeing them move on ice is impressive af. Even the refs are crazy athletes compared to any other refs. And there’s no out of bounds (like bball, soccer, football, etc), the puck just bounces off the walls and they keep going. And you can’t forget the aggression either.

I'm with Jay Will on this one. Hockey is one of the most underrated Sports I have ever watched and I'm not afraid to admit it but I'm a black man that loves my hockey. Go Avalanche

Max isn’t the problem he’s an example of it. At this point hockey will never have a shot at being on any level near the other sports because of this kind of attitude. Hockey schmockey. “Oh the NFL is at its most boring time and the NHL is at its best but I still think we should focus on NFL.” If you talk about it some more people will listen; ESPN has that reach on consumers (unfortunately). And what reason other than the lack of coverage itself and the perceived lack of interest there from is there for not covering hockey more. Too violent? Y’all love the NFL. Too fast and hard to keep up with? The NBA is at its best when it’s fast paced. Don’t understand it too difficult to learn? One it’s not and two all sports are foreign until you watch and learn. Hockey is exciting and the fans are passionate and it has the potential to be marketable and is making the effort. It’s entering a scoring flurry and if ESPN schmuck’s like Max didn’t put it down and actually sold it a little more it’d be mutually beneficial seeing as how ESPN carries many of the high market games.

I’ve been watching hockey for the last 10 years, I’ve chose that over baseball and basketball, once you know it’s a blowout, it’s over by halftime, but in hockey, anything can happen, I don’t regret choosing hockey over the other sports, obviously nfl is #1 but hockey is forsure 2nd!

Ice Hockey is the greatest team sports you will ever know. I don't know who you guys are but listen to JWill he is telling the truth. Hockey combines Hoops, F'Ball & baseball into one sport, except you have to do it on a slippery hard ice surface wielding and swinging a stick, at higher speed, on two thin blades, the hits come faster harder, hitting a projectile of frozen solid rubber that's harder that's coming at you as fast and at times faster than a baseball.

Is he wrong? Basically every casual sport fans follows the NBA and NFL, but can’t name 5 hockey players, same with the MLB. Baseball and Hockey both have a problem that most of their fans are hardcore and being a casual is rare

I was just at game 7 in the garden against the Penguins…. I have been to every major sport live and all others are terrible compared to the live hockey experience

As a die hard New York sports fan of Tri-State Area, NY/NJ that watches local hockey of the Rangers, Islanders, Devils, and I respect all 3 teams I have been too two Devils games at Prudential Center with a friend of mine Devils beat the Panthers, and a loss against the Bruins, been to an Islanders game at Barclays Center a win against the Penguins, never been to a Rangers game at Madison Square Garden before but go to an live NHL game you will be hooked.

I try to tell people that hockey is the most exciting and skill required sport in the world and it’s not even close! Because people don’t understand the rules they don’t watch it. Also the players are far tougher and conditioned than any other sport as well as more intelligent because they’re making decisions within fractions of a second. Going to a live game will convince just about anyone.
