It seems like even the heart of the ring was broken at the funeral. As sad as this story is, it is full of symbols and its own way - extrremely beautiful!
Gotta admit, was not expecting the dog paw. Instantly put this channel at the top of my list! Wholesome humor cures the soul.

I was like "wait why are they pushing a feather duster?" until I saw the dog snout on the 2nd appearance of the paw lol
8:50 just sat here crying because it’s so clear how much you loved your Dad and how much your work together shaped and strengthened that relationship. So generous of you to share with us such precious memories all captured in these wonderful gems!

the ring reminds me of a terry pratchet quote “This, milord, is my family's axe. We have owned it for almost nine hundred years, see. Of course, sometimes it needed a new blade. And sometimes it has required a new handle, new designs on the metalwork, a little refreshing of the ornamentation . . . but is this not the nine hundred-year-old axe of my family? And because it has changed gently over time, it is still a pretty good axe, y'know. Pretty good.” you can change the stone and you can change the ring but it all just adds to the story and the history, it is still the ring of your father

That beautiful frog has so much life in it! What an incredible gift. Your skill, and that of your Father, is truly breathtaking! He lives on in so much of your very personal collection - thank you so much for sharing it with us all!
That frog is amazing! Wish we'd have seen him at work, and glad he is still so alive in your memories. ❤️

Yes same I wish I had filmed some
I was happy to see the stone-on-stone setting in the first pendant. I have thought how perfect that would be when a gorgeous stone has a pock or spot of sand, rather than grind away beautiful color. All-in-all you have very nice collection.
I absolutely LOVED this video Justin. The stories behind each gem, the meaning of them to you, and the emotions so genuine just made this video so much better. I’ve always known you and yours are such good down to earth people. GOOD people. I thank you so much for sharing these stories with us, because you didn’t have to do that. Thank you for that.
I rewatch these favorite shows. Where else can we be exposed to the beauty that IS Opal?
Looking at beautiful opals is one thing, hearing the heartwarming and somewhat heartbreaking stories behind them takes it to a whole new level Justin, thanks for sharing this with us!
Your dad was a true talent. The frog was the icing on the cake.
Your dad is an incredible carver, how he did that frog is really cool.

Mad is an understatement at what i'd be at the "jeweler" who resized your dads ring and broke that beautiful stone

It is sad no doubt but maybe it's more fitting that the stone cracked after he passed
My old man would’ve said “Ya big Jessie” if he’d watched a video of Justin crying!! Lol!
Love the pride you take in your treasures
Your skits are legitimately the funniest 😂 love your guys dad joke humour 😂
There is something magical about these stones. Its like nebulas in galaxies
Great memories of your Dad. I’m sure he’s there looking over your shoulder. 💕
Its like the heart of the gem your Dads Garnett was broken too. Thank you for sharing 💔
I've had similar experience with jewelry from my mother and grandmother. I've had pieces re-fashioned, and it brings their memory forward into my daughter's childhood. She sees me wear and enjoy the pieces that I wear almost everyday as a mini tribute to my fore mothers, the result is my daughter has my grandmother, my mother, and my own stories woven into the legacy of each piece. ♡
more drooling! theyre not only magnificent in rarity of color and pattern but the cut shapes are perfection, beautiful and tactile. amazing!
Always enjoy watching your videos Justin. The colours in the opals are lovely as is Melinda with those stunning eyes. Keep up the great work guys. Cheers.
The two of you have the most incredible energy! These stories.. wow! Seriously the most beautiful business
They are so amazing expecially the green tree frog your dad made absolutely stunning thank you both so much and thanks for sharing with us all Justin 😁👍
Ur fathers frog is truly amazing.🙏❤️💪
I love the dog paw showing the stones it’s not everyday you see a hand model that can fetch
I saw this opal in a shop in lightning ridge and sat there and cried . Most beautiful opal I ever saw . Totally melted my heart . It had a price tag of $75.000 on it . Fell in love that day 💜
I love reptiles and frogs. That green tree frog carving is amazing! Your father was very talented! I am quite jealous!
Absolutely beautiful and priceless. Seriously that frog is incredible. I would value it above them all in a special and unique way. That is a huge piece of Boulder/Potch. The Eyes are gorgeous as well.
That Frog is stunning!!
Black opals have a mixture of favorite colors
Thank you so much about your story and your dad. I have been so upset for the last four years. You see I raised my son for 18 years on my own. I ran my own business for his life and over the years as he got older he wanted to take over the business once I was ready for retirement. Well four years ago I was in a accident and can work he went on and got a job in a dealership I am proud of him but I am so upset about the accident I just can't get over it. But your story makes me realize how much I love him.thank you
This was amazing for me! The stories you have that go with each item are very moving. You have created a history of a life and a vocation you hold dear. You have also kept the special connection you have with your father as a mentor, a father, a friend and a person you shared this passion with. The stones as just stones are unreal, and by adding the value of the life behind them, you have something that should exist through all of time. Nothing can ever replace that kind of thing. I hope you do a video soon of the rest of your collection.
Well you managed not to cry but I didn't. Beautiful things and such wonderful memories. What a wonderful vlog! Thank you Justin and Melinda.
I know nothing about Opals or any precious stones however this is fascinating and the opals are so beautiful. I wish I could do this for a living.
Thanks for sharing Justin! I love every single one of your videos.
Man I love hearing your stories. Your heart has as much color as any stone in your collection. Thank you for sharing!
Wonderful emotional stories behind your gems. That first stone in this video is a beauty. That one spoke to me. Thank you.
This video hit me in the feels! It was really touching to hear the stories behind the stones and the idea of the legacy passed down through generations. You are absolutely correct about that value. I loved both ring stories and the one named after your son is stunning! Tell your wife that is a fantastic design. All the stones were amazing to see. The carving of the frog knocked my socks off, your dad was such an artist. Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful opals Justin. lovely to have your own personal and sentimental stories behind them. Thank you for sharing them with us.
I really enjoy these glimpses in to your private opal collection and the stories that go along with each stone.
I really enjoyed the opal stories. Fantastic!
Thank you for sharing the wonderful stories behind the beautiful opal stones in your collection.
Thanks for sharing your stories! I love your frog, especially with the story behind it!
Loved all the storys thank you. A big loving thumbs up.
Omg the frog gave me all the feels and reminded me of my grandfather. Very much like your dad Justin, he was an amazing engineer, creator and artist. He left me a small parcel of opal rough when he passed (he used to make jewellery for my gran) There is some beautiful beautiful bright colour and I would love to learn to cut and polish so I can gift some pieces to family as a reminder of him but I am too scared that I would balls it up! . Your collection is awesome and the memories must be even better. Thank you for sharing ❤️
Thank you Justin and Melinda for sharing! It’s the personal touches, along with your willingness to share that makes your channel special.
Beautiful!! Opal makes me go in a trance!!
Hey Justin. Your videos are wonderful to watch, but I'd like to comment about you and your dads relationship. It's obvious that you love and admire him immensely. He was so lucky to have a son who looked up to him. I also had a great father who guided me through the first 38 years of my life. I regret not telling him how important he was to me. Thank you for sharing your memories of him with us. Cheers mate ❤👍👍👍
Justin that Garnett’s beautiful. That crack doesn’t effect its beauty. The fire and color is still just as strong as when your father wore it I bet. It kept its shape, that crack doesn’t define it.
The stories are what make these opals B5s all around. Thank you for sharing your collection with us!
Thanks for connecting us to your passion. Most enjoyable videos I could be watching. Thank you!
Loved the beginning. Thank you for sharing your stories. I teared up with your memory of your father. Thank you. Keep up the great videos. 💖
Thank you so much for your stories. ❤
The video of you and your Dad and him showing how to carve was the first time I saw that frog. And to this day it still amazes me. So very talented.
Thank you for sharing these beautiful stories.
WOW Justin, stunning collection and i'm sure i've not even seen the half of it ! love the stories about every single one of em ! makes them so much more special and they are so special on there own! love from Belgium EU!

The frog really is so well done. Superb detailing. Thank you so much for sharing your gems, family and friends.
Thanks for sharing your opals and the story behind them. The spessartine garnet is gorgeous, had so much fire, I didn't even notice the crack until you mentioned it and me rewatching it at higher resolution.
Yes, very pretty indeed. The opals are nice, too!

Beautiful stories.
Thanks for showing part 2. Loved the frog, and the garnet. Oh and the opals of course. Oops, forgot the Saxon ring. Gorgeous!

Ah, I'm crying in my job watching it! Amazing stones with amazing feelings! ♡
Love the story behind the stones. Great job 👍🏼
I loved the opal that you have in the ring that you can choose the opal. It's such a blue that I really like!! Cool! Thanks for sharing with us!!
Omg the Frog is amazing. Talented man. You must be so.proud.x
That result of the gem with hole in it is such a win! Even more stunning in the uniqueness of a diamond found in a field of opal!😉
Amazingly Beautifull Stories and opals!! Melinda Just Stunningly Beautifull as Always!!
Wow Justin this is a phenomenal collection! Especially your dad's carving, it's very lifelike. Thank you for sharing I'm certain it was hard to do.
those are really special gems! A talented family!
The frog that your father carved is brilliant and I love the story that goes with it. The way you talk about your dad with so much love and respect he must have been an amazing man. I would have loved to meet him. 😄😄
What a heartbreaking yet beautiful story about your Dad's ring was!! Tears with a redemption of joy at the end. Thank you for sharing your memories with us.💙💚🧡❤
The way you speak about your father...yeah it makes me cry because I lost my father at 21, am now 33. I can't think of him without crying and I definitely can't speak of him without crying. Great that you have these to remember him by I like that.
This is the 3rd time I've watched you and Melinda show your collection off, the frog, omg tears, the things I miss about my dad .
Oh wow 😍 I absolutely love love your beautiful frog 🐸 it's amazing!!!!
That frog is phenomenal. The detail is exquisite. The fact that it isn't made perfectly symmetrical, with the front feet having different aspects, and the shape lines.., everything. Just outrageously good.
I'm late to the party but I really enjoyed watching this. I got a pair of opal earrings when I was a kid and 45 years later, I'm still wearing them.
And the shining gem is the poise and grace you share!
I have never cried over a crystal or gem. But when I saw the frog tears welled up in my eyes and I felt a rush of emotions. What an extraordinairy and special piece of true art that is. Thank you so much for showing it to us! Pure emotion. Absolutely love your channel. Wish you and your family all the best❤
Loved this presentation. Your emotional connection to your profession and your family is very touching and endearing. Your gems are truly spectacular, they make me lust for some. But I always see them surrounded by diamonds.
Justin, It came to my mind immediately as you told the story of your Father’s stone breaking that by your wife handing it to you at your most vulnerable time it represents the heartbreak you must have felt losing him and the stone now contains this, which makes it even more precious.
