Justin, you have a gift for playing. You have a gift for teaching!! And, thank you for sharing that gift!!!
Not only is he an incredibly talented player, he is very articulate and well-spoken. Nice job explaining the process so even a lay-person could understand what's actually happening while he's playing.

This is an *amazing* amount of theory, history, instruction etc. - several months (years?) of info in just over 4 minutes. That is truly impressive.
He's in a class all by himself. My utmost respect.

Why? Because he can play a shovel? I am not impressed at all. Who gives a shit. Would you be impressed if i made a guitar out of an oak stool in my living room? Point is it's not what it's being played on. He isn't going to make this amazing music because it's a shovel. You are simping for a gimmick

@@gregw6442 lol. Master. Hardly a master. He made a guitar out of a shovel. Thats not called being a master thats called doing dumb shit for views so people like you can feed his ego. Who cares. Its a shovel. Oooooo he is playing a shovel. Wow amazing. Any jackass can play a shovel bro

Justin Johnson is by far my favorite guitar player. I was never into it until Justin - and the 3 string guitar just got me, I don’t own one yet but I will , it will be my fist instrument ever.! I don’t come from a musical family . I’m 40 and this instrument just gets me. Thank you

Why play 3 strings? Are you that big of a loser you can't play 6.
Wish I found this 5 years ago when I first started, this is by far THE most helpful shortcut to learning quickly.

No its not. Playing a shovel is for idiots. Pick up the real thing.
There are two types of guitars: works of art and shovels--so a guitar tech once told me. Way to take his philosophy to a whole new level!

Its not impressive. He made a guitar out of a shovel. Probably goes out of tune faster than you can say jack robinson has less strings. Who gives a shit. Just because its a shovel doesnt mean it has amazing sound. 100% sounds like crap

Man, talk about picking the right tool for the job! :D Mate, you take cool to a different level... with that tool. ;) Love it.
Cool! The bassline bit reminds me of the start of the film they live, where he's looking for work?
I can dig it.
Goodjob
I was told once that "hitch Hiking" with my thumb on the neck was bad form for guitar, But I have a 3 string shovel, so the neck is round. I can only get my slide around and under if I use my thumb along the neck on the back. I also noticed you did some hitch hiking yourself, and you sound excellent. Any thoughts? Seems like to keep the slide straight on the frets you have to hitch hike a bit.
Sounds like lightning boy on the movie crossroads.,, Arlen Roth.

This instrument is similar to a Japanese shamisen, which is a three strings instrument. Shamisen is tuned differently for each song.

"Now I can tell you're a real music type young fella, good lookin boy too, know what you're talkin about!"
Cool
And....being a shovel, it comes with a “Lifetime Guarantee”!! 😃👍
This sound remember me the Game Wasteland2. Ohh yeah
I've never even held one of those guitars in my hands, yet I already know how to play it. That's because I play by ear. If I can hear it I can play it. Had a friend one time who played piano, but he was what they call "note bound." which means that without the sheet music up there in front of him he couldn't play. Of course, I might not be able to now because of the arthritis in my hands, but then slide on my lap is probably what I'd be confined to these days. Had an old simi hollow body guitar one time, and I took the nut off of it and replaced it with a raised nut in order to get the strings up off of the fretboard. I learned a bunch of songs, including "In My Time Of Dying," and, "When The Levee Breaks," just to name a couple. Yeah, that sounds good. I like that.
