if i was gaethje i would seriously train with conor for few months,Geathje is box office and a bad brother but gets hit too much,he has decent wrestling n striking,only problem is he can't dodge his opponents strikes,if he doesn't change his approach his chin's gonna become glass jaw,i hope he can avoid barbosa's striking.GREAT FIGHT THOUGH!

This is such a good fight. Justin is always an exiting fighter.

Hate to watch Justin take the amount of punishment he's about to take .....again. But I will.

Gaethje should also get extra paid for the backflip he does off the cage after every win.

Gaethje is a fan favorite but for Al it makes no sense fighting him. Al should fight if not McGregor, then Poirier. Excluding Tony Ferguson Al & Dustin are probably the most well rounded fighters in that division.

Al went toe to toe with Masvidal, knocked out Diego after a long lay off and beat Kevin Lee up again. Don’t forget he went 5 rounds with 2 days notice with Khabib, so don’t underestimate him.

Al went into the Khabib fight planning for a decision loss. He was bragging about it after the fight. Al will never have a belt.

Nobody ranked higher than Gaethje wants to fight him, because if they win, so did Poirier and Alvarez, but it's still a really tough night taking a lot of damage.

I agree with Justin that he should be paid more, but I agree with nearly every fighter when they say that, with the exception of those making millions per fight. We ask these guys to repeatedly get hit in the head and pay them the equivalent of a middle class wage, minus benefits, since they're all contractors. I get that how much athletes are paid is proportional to the popularity of their sport, and MMA isn't something seemingly everyone care about, like football, but it's a seriously bunk deal for MMA athletes. You see how excited these guys are when they get a $25K fight bonus? Most NFL/NBA/MLB players wouldn't blink for $25K.

This guy easily should get ATLEAST a million per fight. The guy is literally expediting himself straight towards CTE for OUR entertainment. Lol Unreal man. Pay that fucking man.

He should showcase his wrestling and put it all together like GSP. You would never know if GSP was shooting in for takedown or throwing strike. Justin vs Barboza is a much more interesting matchup.

Dan Hooker simply did not take Barboza's world class striking seriously enough. He appeared to think he could employ the same basic tactic that won him his previous fights but Edson's striking is simply on another level. Justin seems to realise this and so it will be interesting to see if he can nullify the ranged attacks. I can't say I'm overly convinced, what he has shown in the past is a willingness to go to war and absorb strike after strike, so I hope for his sake he doesn't fall back into that mindset when things heat up. He is also right that he deserves more money. All these guys do. The UFC a billion dollar company that is ripping off its fighters so its fat cat hollywood stake holders can continue to get richer and richer. It's fucking bullshit. Shame on Dana and shame on the UFC.

Dan Hooker was far too slow for Edson, the difference in athleticism was huge and it allowed Barboza to do whatever he wanted and he put the fucking beatdown on him because of it. Justin is far more athletic and Edson hasn't truly been in the kind of war that Justin can bring.

Lee couldn’t keep up with the pressure gaethje brings. If gaethje can pull off a solid performance and win over Edson, then there’s no other match the ufc would do for him other than lee. Al will probably match up with Dustin here soon since Ferguson is waiting out for Khabib to return

This is the second time I've heard a fighter talk about the non-title main event rounds.

Why doesn't he say what he's getting paid? Especially when he - rightfully - thinks the fighters should get paid more in main events. The guy makes at least $100,000 per fight guaranteed. He makes $50,000 extra in bonuses for fight of the night and/or performance of the night. In his first fight in the UFC, he made $100,000 show money, $50,000 Fight of the Night, and $50,000 Performance of the night totaling $200,000 for first fight. All fights after that were $150,000. Justin Gaethje could potentially make $200,000 again if he gets fight of the night AND performance of the night

100% agree. Justin has some of the worse striking defense in the game. While he is focused on pressuring to avoid Edson's wheel kicks, he will probably get caught with body shots and gas. Too bad he won't use his wrestling.
