56 year Bears fan here, and I feel exactly the same. I prayed they’d trade JF during the offseason because I didn’t see any progress last year. He was terrible on Sunday, but I didn’t appreciate how terrible until I watched this. I watch every second of every game, but I honestly don’t know how much I can take.

Such a great breakdown, but so painful to watch. WTF are the Bears doing? They need to fire the entire offensive coaching staff and start over if the game at Tampa is as bad as this.

The right guard, Nate Davis, you can count on one hand how many practices he was in throughout all of OTA’s, mini camp, training camp and preseason. We paid premium dollars for several years for him.

@@stonecold5373 It's like the Chargers, Jets, Giants and until recently, Lions. Like the franchises are just cursed. As he said 3/4 of the plays were good concepts, fields just didn't pull the trigger. and the others were a fucking meme. So when you have a great play that works the players don't block, or hit the wide ass open guy, and when they call the meme everyone is busting trying to make it work. All I can think is they need to do the Pats test on players. Get the guys who are great at 1 thing and only use them for that 1 thing, and get guys who want to win, not just cash a check. Half that oline looks like they didn't give af if the won or lost, or if their qb could walk the next day. It's everywhere, but really it's effort and consistancy from the coaching to the players and honestly to the front office for putting that shit show together. Might be time to burn it down, completely clean house, and try and do it right. Worked for the Lions.

50:00 "I've said all I can say politely," was a great turn of phrase. Love the work JT, even when it's painful offense.

Problem with Fields is that he doesn't use his scrambling to extend the play...he just breaks the pocket and runs too quickly. But it all starts with the line sucking and making him panic every play.

Seeing a dumpster fire like this at the NFL level top to bottom, from the play calling, to the execution, to effort was eye opening. This had me legit belly laughing on multiple occasions. Love it!!

It's tough being a Bears fan these days, it seems like our coaching and scheming just holds us back no matter how good of players we get. It's like we don't see what the most successful teams are doing and try to copy them a little bit. This season is really going to be a turning point for Fields development.. we know he can run, let's get him to pass just as well.

If you're a Bears fan and this is your first time watching JT break down Getsy's offense, just know that the design flaws all over the place here were also in the offense last year. This is a very scary place to be in. I was willing to look past a lot of rough play last year because the roster was so *cough* intentionally *cough* thin, but seeing these imbalances in the offense persist and no growth take place over the course of the off-season is very likely a harbinger of what is to come, even if it is just one game. Not calling deeper passing concepts while down 10, 14 and 17 points was very eye opening for me. I figured last year they started doing that to protect Justin from longer dropbacks in the pocket behind a weak line, but now you are stuck with one of two very bad problems: 1) Either the line still hasn't improved enough to call 'big boy' passing concepts, at which point you have to ask: when will it ever? Will you ever be able to build a wall for Justin to develop behind if that truly is the issue for him? 2) OR, After an entire off-season, Luke Getsy still doesn't trust Justin to throw the ball around the field, even when the Bears have plus weapons and are down multiple scores. Neither answer is a pleasant one, but the reality at this point is one or both of those things are true. I know it's just one game, but it's the season opener. This is the healthiest this team will ever be, with the most time possible to prepare for a game.

Wow, your video on Justin Fields is more than an hour. I’m used to shorter videos of yours. As much as I love Justin Fields and want him nothing but success. I gave up on the Bears after Sunday. The whole franchise, the coaches, the coordinators, the players, everything went wrong with this Green Bay game.

Thank you for this film study. I'm 63 years old, played football and watch as much as I possibly can, but I spent the afternoon completely LOST. Zero idea what this offense was trying to do. Glad to know that I wasn't alone. Anyone else we me?

The last time I watched Fields play it was against the Lions where the Bears lost in a blowout. A lot of the same issues....bad O-line play. Fields not protecting the football. Hesitation and not letting it rip. Part of the problem is being an OSU QB. The have recruited so many great receivers that the QB is used to having 3 receivers with 5-8 yards of separation. Most teams they played against were lucky to have 1-2 decent cover guys. JT points out plays that are "NFL Open"...a smaller window that is there for the taking but he doesn't trust it enough to let it rip. I'm in Detroit and I wonder how Fields would do with our very good O-line, a good coordinator in Ben Johnson, a good running game,etc. Fields needs to improve a lot but are the Bears putting him in a position to succeed? I don't think so. JT was spot on in regards to designed runs...where were they? In the Lions game he popped 2 long runs early for about 90 yards or so. He's a great runner, use them legs.

This is without a doubt the best review of any Bears game that I've ever seen. So great. What I would give to see you do just every Bears game on both sides of the ball week in and week out. You break things down so well.

The Eberflus tenure may be short-lived in Chicago. I get that he's a defensive guy, but this is an hour breakdown of players that are either making mistakes in execution or mistakes in gameplan, even plays. Bad plays are easy to blame but the poor execution is a worse indictment of the coaching staff.

The shots were spread around...and rightly so. My two favorites were when the right guard "Went Full Sabotage" and tailpiped the center and when Braxton Jones pulled to the right and danced down the line as his man came in unblocked to murder Fields.

@@TheQBSchool…please bump up the Bagent breakdown video so us knuckle head Bears fans won’t search for it…lol. Poles literally texted Tyson and told him to be an asset to Justin….Why can’t JF1 just watch and learn how to drop back quickly and just rip it like Bagent did in preseason?

It almost feels like Fields is in some Maverick time warp where he just lost Goose and he cant engage because the shots not there!

I am so grateful for your very honest and clear analysis. My brother and I were yelling (stupidly) at Fields to throw down the field. We saw these plays the way you're seeing them and it makes me question Fields ability to read the defense and to see the open receivers. It's as though everything goes too fast for him and he gets confused. As a Bears fan I want him to succeed but I'm not confident after this game. I like Fields, he works super hard, he's a fantastic person, and is very talented athletically but he doesn't process information the way a great QB needs to. I second Steve's comment below, show this review to the Team!!!

or he dont trust his Wr.... and wont throw to them unless they are open, OR the Coaching staff is telling him to do this, we dont know whats going on JT dont either.......thats the sad parrt

He right… Fields has loads of ability but damn the lack of urgency is killing me. Nothing sudden even at end of the game

That 3rd and 1 and 4th and inches did it for me.... 3rd and 1 and we do the Nagy special (a trick play that no one expects, not because its crazy good, but because its the absolute dumbest option available; a TE sneak)... and the 4th and 1 also a Nagy special (a play or 2 too late)

Please do Herbert and the playcalling. I'd love to see your depth on the first game with him and an OC that doesn't call plays from Madden. Tua had a crazy game but I wanna know what you think, especially given your comments in your last Herbert video. Wish there was more content like yours!

Besides the consistently great analysis/breakdown, I just loved the number of WTFs you inserted. Whether it was poor overall scheme, execution of blocks/routes or lack of commit-to-rip-its, I can only hope everyone from Getsy and Justin to the Receiver and O-Line Rooms gets this pure garbage cleaned-the-F-up for the road game against Tampa. Once again - WTF!

They’ll totally fry Fields’ career I’m sure, but it’s breakdowns like this that I hope get to the mainstream to show people how HORRIBLY the coaching is failing him. Kid could throw in college, everyone wants to act like he’s Tebow. It’s gross.

@@ninjalbatross count again, starts with coaching. And the only positive I heard at all was a throw or two he praised Fields’ anticipation. It’s 90% coaching failure. The scheme is garbage. If the same players had the Colts staff they’d look far more competent, or at least have the CHANCE to be competent.

He’s not Tebow but he’s just not a good Quarterback. He’s got all the tools, but his execution and processing just isn’t where it needs to be to find success throwing in the NFL. I agree that the coaching staff is failing him to a degree, but there were plenty of instances of Fields missing wide open throws.

@@s.strong4233 he has no chance with the coaching, that’s the main takeaway from the video. If he had the chance Hurts had or Richardson is getting and still failed, then it’s on him. The guy out-passed Lawrence straight up head to head and wasn’t even considered a running qb coming out of college. How quickly we forget.

The Bears feel like watching one of those old electric football table games where the board vibrates and everything kinda moves around at random. No real cohesion, not really setting up future plays with previous ones, just chaos.

Phenomenal review. Please keep doing these of Fields / Bears QBs.

Judging by field’s performance his first 2 years. JT can do 25 videos on fields lmfao But it’d be the same thing for each video. Same mistakes, same missed reads, same failed read, etc.

as a packer fan this was fun for a while. but eventually even i found it deflating...literally every other game is going to be harder. probably including bears pt 2, they can't be this bad again.

I say y’all are still a question mark . Fields is definitely a bust in my eyes who scared to throw in the middle .and our D is still very new. New players and switching to 4-3

22:33 Their right guard is Nate Davis, who's really solid. He just finished three good years (PFF grade 68 or better) with the Titans. Seeing him look that lost is really making me wonder what the Bears are telling him to do.

Nate Davis has barely been on the field the entire offseason. First he skipped OTA’s then in camp he had some combination of personal reasons and mystery injuries that kept him off the field. I thought he was going to be solid and I hope it’s simply a lack of snaps that he’s played with the Bears that made him look so bad and that he can improve.

​@@kccarnine2124Vrabel literally said he didn't want players on his team that didn't practice. He might have been good on talent those first couple years but after a while, if you're not practicing you're gonna end up clueless.

What sucks the most about being a bears fan, is that yeah sure fields could definitely be playing better and definitely misses a lot of things, but also it’s like they’re not even giving him a chance. We spent so much money and none of it actually improved the holes and needs, and then on top of that our offensive scheme and design do NOT cater to him in any way.

First time here and my goodness… excellent breakdown of film. I didn’t want it to end, only I did because the Oline and play calling was trash! Thanks man, you have a new sub from me. Keep up the great work. 👏🏽

32:18 JT last year you said to compare week 1 film vs week 18 and to see how the O has progressed. Well ya got the same energy in both video's with the same knocks on the whole operation. Thanks for your hard work on these break downs 🤙

one of the things I’ve been doing with Justin’s film is snap my fingers at the moment where I would’ve thrown in anticipation. not even halfway thru yet and the one time I didn’t snap was the 3rd and 11 at 20:36 where he actually threw in anticipation. I like Justin Fields, he’s a capable passer, but good lord Luke Getsy’s gotta go.

Fields is not a capable passer. He was alright in college but that doesn’t translate over. To blame this solely on Getsy is ignorant. He doesn’t trust fields to attempt to actually move the ball downfield and he is more than justified in that. Fields is a liability.

@@TonyFaflik look at the designs for at least half of the plays discussed. multiple receivers running identical routes in the same area, multiple screen passes in 2nd and long/3rd and long situations, and pass pro schemes that didn’t fit the personnel.

I simultaneously appreciate yet am really sad for this breakdown. Our offense looks worse then what it did last year at some points.
