I dont get why Faber has never been the head coach? I get the feeling he can't handle not being the main man in the gym everyone looks up To but at the same time doesn't have the balls to take the responsibility

He came across great in this interview apart from the disparity between what he said to Duane and TJ in TUF and what he's saying here. He got in Duane's face and asked him for a fight. So, if TJ and Duane were nothing but respectful to him that entire time.. Anyway.. I personally think Buncholz is a very good coach from what I have seen on his fight life segments. The training sessions look extremely well organized and planned. I also like how he uses his youth to get directly involved in the sessions. And there seems to be a lot of truth in what he says about the TAM ego issues. Which is deeply ironic and yet, fitting considering their team name lol.

faber is average, lacking the grit to become the best version of himself, which makes him egotistical and stubborn. cody should return to fighting like his prior self, and he will become unstoppable. counter perspective would account for his brutal back injury...is he the same guy after that?

It’s funny how Buchholz brings up Cody going hard during camp and injuring fighters. And you see Cody talking about TJ with Uriah on going hard during training and injuring Chris Holdsworth. I understand that they also spoke about TJ doing cheap shots *after* the whistle, but I’m just saying that it’s funny that they spoke crap about each other and they’re sorta similar.

@@migueldelreal1950 the best coaches are not superstars. Look at any other pro sports. Don Mattingly was coach of the Yankees when they were the worst. Joe Torres was a decent player but as a coach he was like the phil Jackson of baseball. Does anyone ever talk about how good phil jackson was as a player?

Christopher McMillan So we all trained at Frostbite Vale Tudo in Fairbanks, AK back in 2003-2004. Jeff (the gym owner) damn near let us all train for free...Mat fees were very fair and the quality of training wasn’t bad for that time. This dude had a fight with some kid out of Iowa, and the day of the fight he flipped and went to Team Wolf Pack out of Anchorage. Not to mention that he gave away fight game plans from some of the Frostbite fighters who were fighting Team Wolfpack on the same card. Dude is a hypocrite....and where is he now? Back in the Bush Leagues. What goes around, comes around.

People need to do their research better. There are some TAM fighters in the UFC that are killing it, such as.. DF, Song, and Nad. Fili seems to have found his direction. Sage was on a solid run until he decided to not resign, and Munoz won on DWCS. Plus, outside of the UFC, Murdock and Avila are doing their thing!

You are correct but but this Gym has produced only 2 UFC champions. TJ Dillashaw became champion but that was thanks to Duane Ludwig but they both left the team. Cody Garbrandt was able to beat Dominick Cruz who is arguably the best bantamweight of all time but keep in mind Cruz was able to beat most of the guys at Team Alpha Male including Urijah Faber twice and TJ Dillashaw. Also look at where Cody is now. He got knocked out twice by Dillashaw and recently by Pedro Munhoz who was number 9 in the division. Cody is on a decline just like team alpha male which is sad because I am a huge Cody Garbrandt fan. I do think the guy needs to change camps. I respect his loyalty to Team Alpha Male but the guy has a family to provide for now. I am sure he made some decent money from UFC 217 from the PPV buys GSP brought I but I think he should move to Jackson Wink or better yet American Top Team.

simpla fly I wasn’t summarizing what he said I stated my opinion about why he’s a salty gamma. If you understood what I said you would know I gave him credit for coaching champs, but that he is upset Faber gets more credit than he did (because Faber built the team) we aren’t too far off from each other but I can tell you care a lot which is why you just reacted emotionally
