Thanks for this video. I bought my brother this toy, it was something he always wanted for 40 years. I used it to help him transform it into truck mode which was his favorite. He passed away recently and I used it to help transform it back so I could store it for him in his next life.

I love ho the wipers are capable of cleaning the headlights as well as the windshield.

I just got this guy and he is awesome, but holy cow, the transformation was a pain! I don't think I would have been able to do it without this video. The pictures in the book are so small, and you can't tell how to untab things most of the time. Thanks for this!

I got my TE01 about 2 days ago. It is amazing and I'm very happy with the purchase. However, I did have a transformation issue with the head panel. It looks like the factory assembled the face in the wrong orientation and when transforming to truck mode it was very difficult to close the panel 8:46 in fact it didn't fit in the two little tabs. I remove the face/head (not the neck) and put it in the opposite orientation and the problem was fixed. Not sure if anyone else is having similar issues but I just wanted to give you my 2 cents.

Just came to this video to see if I did something wrong cause I had the same issue, lo and behold my head was assembled wrong! Thank you random stranger for your tip about reversing the head on the neck, now it closed up right and looks great!

Same thing with mine. Near drove me mad trying to do it until I noticed in this video that it was on backwards. Screw driver out, swapped it round, no problem.

Are you paying attention Takara? You just got your ass kicked by a 3P.

I wanted to be like, "This transformation is bullshit!" then I realized that the head on mine was actually assembled backwards so it wasn't providing enough clearance to close up the top of the cab. Easy fix thankfully

I don't wish that transformation on anyone lol. You did well....looks just as good in truck mode. I haven't tried mine yet...

Wtf this is better than the masterpiece

This figure has pissed me off so much unfortunately because I love the way it looks and feels. I couldn't figure out how to get the cab to sit flush with the legs and I couldn't get his head inside his chest during transformation without messing up the antennae. Bums me out.

I have the feeling Masterpiece Optimus Prime V3 will be like that or close to it.

Engo.... I love you dude. Your transformation videos are so helpful!! But I must ask... please take the extra few minutes to show the transformation of the other leg. I missed a step when transforming the other leg and the wheel came off.

Seems like that’s more your fault than mine, but I do take the time to transform both sides for the JTIs now.

Never look at the instructions. Always come straight here! This transformation was hard!! Can’t get the top of the cab to sit right with the other head on. Wonder if anyone else had that issue?

Maybe go to his JTI on the nemesis Prime repaint? He has the other head on that one so you can look at that.

Watching this a second time I think the legs are fully justified, but there's some needless shenanigans around the waist.

Could you make these for Rouge and koot?

Also this may seem like alot emgo but can make a short video of your collections?

While I ultimately like the transformation, the back part near the beginning drove me crazy. My thumbs/pointer fingers are hurting from pulling and being pinched a couple times. This video really helped me out though. Thanks.

Sounds like you need one of those dx9 part separators.

I usually find your transformation videos relatively somewhat easy to follow but this one was not easy to follow for me personally

Just used this video to transform mine for the first time. Struggled with the instructions in the box

I saw other reviews for this and in those primes eyes looked really far apart. In this they look normal

I’m starting to hate this figure bc of the transformation not gonna lie

I really hate it when a transformer has to have a fake part simulating a vehicle part for robot mode, such as his fake grill.

It's for show accuracy, because in the cartoon his grill in truck mode was very different from how it looked in bot mode. Its the same as how his crotch isn't the bumper, because that would look stupid. The engineering that makes both modes nearly perfect on this figure is amazing.

I don't like when they have fake parts neither, but it's inevitable since the robot mode look would be affected. I really appreciate when designers minimize the use of fake parts by partially reusing the original part. For example, in MP-39 Sunstreaker they hide the chest of the robot mode in the back of the roof in car mode, instead of using the whole roof and windshields as in the original G1 toy, which doesn't look in proportion with the cartoon. MP-45 Bumblebee is a different story, the robot chest is totally fake, hidden somewhere else in car mode.

I always though the grill in robot mode was a shield on the underside in truck mode, which makes sense. I also don't mind the truck mode grill as robot mode chest tbh. It's a cartoon from the 80s, hand drawn (many rushed at that actually) so errors and inconsistencies were abundant, hence we got errors here and there. Things which were supposed to be straight appeared curved or askew. I don't mind feet stick out the back, the rear of many bob tail trucks look less tidy, also

So I need to set 20 min aside for this.

It feels overly complex for no reason

NO reason? It's basically turning a cube into a robot whilst adhering to the toon aesthetic (and a bloody clean one at that). Other than actual magic, how else do you expect them to do it?
