Kareem played 1560 games. Lebron has played 1154. Kareem has played 406 more games than Lebron. Kareem had 38387 career points (NBA record holder), Lebron has 31330. Kareem has 7057 more points than Lebron. Lebron needs to average 17.4 points per game over the next 406 games to surpass Kareem in career points, and games played. If he stays healthy, there is no reason why this won't happen.

Dannyboyz Thing is that’ll be 5 more seasons. I’m not sure if lebron cares about the record that much and if he’ll want to play till 39. I think he’ll break it in 4 seasons tho. He’ll only to average about 22.8 ppg (playing all games) in the next 4 years which he’ll prolly surpass.

That's the point, and situation for him. It's so very very hard to do what Cap did. We see how my man Kobe got hurt during the end of his career or know what he might have done. Personally I don't think he'll do it, and for that reason, I'm out.

ur girls cooch - I’m not saying at 50 he would have been all nba good, or even good enough to still be in the league. My point is that at 40 he was still being offered contracts to play in the NBA, at 50 he was still able to dominate pick up games against NBA players, so it’s highly likely that if he hadn’t already been the NBA all-time scoring leader and he hadn’t had the opinion that a 15 year career was about as long as they get, he could have extended his career and extended his record. Possibly to the point where Kareem may have ended his career earlier thinking it was too hard to reach. Much like I think Karl Malone did.

Lebron is an amazing player. The best in this generation and maybe all time. I grew up watching MJ. If he didn't take any breaks and retire after 15 seasons and played 20 seasons straight he may have been close or could have beaten the scoring record. Lebron through 15 seasons is averaging 2,069 total points a season. even if that drops to 1500 average he will in the next 5 seasons score 7500 points. He has a very high chance of beating the all-time scoring record.

Kevin Durant is definitely out of the hunt now after tearing his achilles, so he's out. As for LeBron, he's already said he's going after Kareem's record, but see the problem with that, is that its going to come at the price of sacrificing himself over the team as he did this year. Yes he put up great numbers before the pandemic, but he was 34 years old still trying to CARRY a team on his back, who does that? Yes the coronavirus slowed him down, but do you actually think he would have been able to sustain this clip without injury? I've seen his workout regimen, but so what, Kobe Bryant and Karl Malone were workout warriors, and both sustain gruesome injuries because of it. LeBron is way to big to not sustain another injury on his aging body, plus he's gotten incredibly and noticeably slower, which is why he's been taking so many jump shots. Its truly a crime shame that white media doesn't acknowledge Kareem as the greatest NBA player of all time, he not only still holds the NBA scoring record, but he still holds the single season defensive rebound record, 6 MVP awards, and he led an expansion team to an NBA championship, along with his 6 championship rings. One little footnote that white media will always avoid telling you, is that during his prime years after he changed his name, white people use to throw stuff at him after games because he converted over to Muslim. I lived in Chicago at the time when they use to have to sneak him out of the arena 2 minutes before the game ended due to threats. That in itself is worse than anything media and social media has to offer. And just think, back in those days people were allowed to get away with it, yet he still persevered and dominated the game his entire career unfazed, and people wonder why he closed himself off to people and the media. Can you blame him?

KD has a very very slim chance of passing Kareem compared to Bron. Calculating numbers, Lebron played 71 more games and scored 2,257 more points than KD in their first 11 seasons (both came in to the league at age 19). KD is entering into his 12th season in 2018/19 season. Lebron scored an average of 1,967 points in 4 seasons after his 11th season. To get to where Lebron is now in 15th season, KD needs to score an average of 2,531 points in the next 4 seasons. That is assuming KD stays healthy and is scoring 30 points per game playing all 82 games (very unlikely). As a reference, KD averaged 1,674 points in two seasons after moving to Golden state. I don't see KD passing Lebron and Kareem at all. I see him finishing in the top 5 tho if he plays 20 seasons. Having said that about KD, Lebron is highly likely to pass Kareem barring a season ending injury. The numbers he needs are very realistic. He can play the next 5 seasons averaging 21 points and playing 70 games a season.

KD needs to leave GSW to pick his pace up. Funny thing is that if he did team up at Lakers he could slow Bron down and get a lot more points due to Bron's happiness to pass. Would pose an interesting conundrum for both of them. Should we or shouldn't we... I still think KD will end up in LALA Land. KD would want to beat his old team mates. He just seems that sort of dude. He'll sign a 3 year deal.

A very simple fact, Lebron being a master of passing, has a slight higher career PPG than KD, and KD is 4 years younger and in one of the best team of all time but not for long, I don't think it's a fair fight at all, it won't really be close. This KD being the best scorer ever thing, is laughable at least, KD is not even in discussion to touch any of the four career scoring record, ppg, playoff ppg, points and playoff points, before another godlike player came up, Lebron will have two total points record and MJ will have two per game record (very much fitting that they are the two GOAT nominee), KD is good in theory to be a unstoppable scorer, that's all, but is he really as unstoppable as Wilt? I would say no, and add a hell in front of it.
