Hence, instead of just disliking the video and deterring the video as a whole, perhaps you could comment something that I can adhere to and discuss it :)

So.. This video is a review/rant on the 1/64 Kyosho McLaren 12C GT3. This video is longer than usual is just me discussing Kyosho in general, so it's not my typical 3-minute video where I review and give you facts about that car.
So if you're not into this "rant" type videos, I suggest you click away. I understand if you're not into this kind of vids :)

Edit: This video is almost four years old. Since then, Ive bought another Kyosho car and was more impressed. My ways of reviewing has changed since then. Original comment: *Yes, I know I know I made some wrong points but I will never buy another Kyosho car* . There are people in the comments section below who are civilised enough to convince me why Kyosho is actually a good brand, which I really do appreciate (as compared to just calling me names because of me having an *_opinion_* ) Nevertheless, I hope you guys enjoyed the video! For those who are new to my channel - Welcome! I like to make videos about all things cars and diecast so if you collect Hot Wheels, Tomica, Majorette, Greenlight, M2 Machines and more, don't forget to click the subscribe button :)!

Brands like Kyosho and Autoart are meant for displaying purposes. I have a kyosho Veneno Roadster myeslf, it looks amazing even in 1/64 scale. Kyosho have MUCH MUCH better scaling than hot wheels and tomica (scales of tomica is all over the place) . I agree they are super overpriced (scalpers....) but nonetheless Should be proud of owning kyosho models, they are pretty good. :)

Clearly the Kyosho cars are display only, but at least make it roll, dudes... I actually like the Kyosho packaging with the car sitting on its base and clearly visible from all sides (although the car comes in a box like the other commenters mentioned). I dislike how most diecast cars come in packaging where you can only see one side and you don't know if there are any defects on the other.

    1. In japan, this car is sold for couple hundreds jp yuan, which is cheap.2. The reason why the package is so simple is that the seller threw away the box. Every kyosho has a paper box. Maybe to reduce the ship cost and also to reveal the car (some are sold in mystery boxes like lottery), sellers would remove the boxes. This is very common in Japan.3. Reselling price is high because this car is not officially sold outside of Japana.4. Online website is: goodsmileshop.com/en/ Normal kyosho are sold in set (around 10-20 boxes)Original kyosho is sold individually with a mica box for display (higher quality) Don’t buy this car on amazon, that is stupid. On ebay, depend on which seller that you can have good price.

I have bought several Johnny lightnings and a few M2s. These also have a lot of detail. I hear the M2s are very delicate but I keep mine in the box so they are fine. Kyosho cars are model replicas. They are supposed to look like the real car. Since they are more accurate with better details they are more expensive. Kyoshos havent been sold much lately which is why they are not featured as much and why some have increased in price. Also the box is great in my view as it is resealable and stackable for storage (unlike all the HW and GL blisters). Moreover, the packaging protects the car (yes, they are fragile especially the mirrors) while still allowed you to see it. The packaging is crucial for shipping, storing or moving the car. If you want replicas Kyoshos are awesome. But they are not toys. TLVs are actually more expensive on the second hand market. As for the plastic base, other makers that strive for high realism like inno64 and tarmac also have plastic bases (as metal doesnt really add anything to the realism of the car except for making it heavier).

I guess ebay kinda scam you off, kyosho cost like $9 here, came with a box (not just a plain plastic). And i guess the reason they didn't put any details on the base since you wont really see it Everytime (to reduce cost i guess idk) and according to my friend, kyosho actually concentrated to be a displayed (that's why they won't roll) but my 400R kyosho looks real good and it's good enough for a little photoshoot 😂

You want it to be as realistic as possible but you want them to add stuff on the bottom of a race car? And metal bases make it even more expensive

Kyosho cars are for displaying and collecting. Thats why they don't care much about the bottom of cars. I have no idea how did he compare this to a painted lights RR hw and say that hw is better. Maybe still a kid that want to drag cars around. I love that 12c gt3 and even more when turn it into custom boutsen ginion version.

Hello there. I don't want to be rude or anything but this is the most ill-informed video i have ever seen on the subject. It is borderline insulting how much you get wrong. First of all, let's talk about the price you paid for this piece. Yes, it was too much, even more so when it is incomplete (you didn't get the ACTUAL box with it). But at the same time, this is a model that was released more than a year ago and it could be that it is highly sought after on the secondary market. Or it could just be that you were ripped off. Just to give you an idea, i just did a quick search on ebay and the first result that popped out matching your car was selling for less than 9 USD. You can get Kyoshos for pretty cheap. Not all lines or models are collectors' favourites, and bargain can be found easily. I have quite a few of them and the price range went from a couple USD to TLV territory. My advice for you get Kyoshos at a fair price: buy them when they come out, and use sellers like Japan Booster to get the best deals. Second point: the box. You didn't get the box it came in yet had no problem comparing it to Tomica Premium and other brands. The "shitty" container that came with your car is actually what is inside the box, as an added protection, not the actual box. The same way the small plastic bag that comes with every Tomica is not the actual container, just some added protection. As for the details missing, which ones? Did you even know what the actual car looked like before saying that things were missing? Those taillights are exactly like that in the actual race car. Kyosho has more details in their models than anything coming from Hot Wheels, Tomica (TLV excluded) and Johnny Lightning. It even beats to the punch Greenlight and most Autoworld by the simple fact that they always have side mirrors and all lights are plastic inserts (with only a few exceptions). I collect all these brands, so I know what they do or don't. Last point: do they roll? Well, most of them do. Some actually roll a lot better than models from Hot Wheels. But it really depends on the series and model. A lot of their race cars don't roll very well due to the low to very low stance of the car. By trying to be accurate they sometimes have to compromise, i guess. For me it has never been an issue because i don't play with this cars. That is not their purposes. So here is my review of your review. Please, check your facts. In this day and age it is pretty easy. I invite you to look further into this brand. Hell, i am even willing to send you some models if that can help. Peace!

+Elisio Da Costa Thank you very much for your constructive feedback. You do make some good points and for that, I might consider doing more research in the future. But as of now, I will not be buying anymore Kyosho mainly due to the pricing. Ebay and amazon _does_ sell these cars at a cheaper price (such as the USD9 price you mentioned) but the shipping fee is ridiculous and cannot be ignored. As for the box, I did see pictures of the box online and it is comparable to a Tomica box, but I feel that the "shitty" (Sorry, I should not have used such a term in the video) packaging could be much better, just like M2 machines' acrylic cases. As for the details, you are also right. I _have_ seen the real thing and maybe thats the way its supposed to be in the first place. Lastly, the rolling part of the cars comes down to a matter of opinion. Highly collectible cars such as Hotwheels Redlines and TLVs cars are not meant to be played with, but they still roll well nevertheless so I was surprised a high brand such as Kyosho couldn't deliver as well as Hot wheels and TLV. But to summarise, I will be more careful in the future when constructing a critisism. Alot of comments I get are people calling me a "faggot" or "gay" but you sir are a nice person. I appreciate the time you took to type out this comment 😊 Cheers!

My first impression from this video is the same. The lack of research. The moment he started complaining about taillights, in my mind, I was already "did this guy even know how the MP4-12C GT3 looks like?" Then moving on to why there isn't any pipings at the bottom. The McLaren is a mid-engined car, and they are known for mounting the exhaust pipes really high, way above the rear bumpers, between their taillights. Even there isn't a flat bottom, you shouldn't be able to see pipings, and then again it's a GT3 race car, so definitely the bottom is flat AF. Kyosho models aren't meant to be taken out of their base and "played" with. People put them in the cases and bases and display them like that. I myself is an avid 1/18 model collector, and that's what many of us do either. While hotwheels, they are designed for both kids to run them in the track at high-speed, and also adult collectors too. That's the reason for the metal bases on some models and the "nice" card packaging they have. If you'd actually look closely at the intricate details the kyosho have, then you'd start to appreciate the car and the price itself. But it's really normal, even in the 1/18 world. There are collectors who pay $200-300 dollars for a highly detailed autoart model with many opening parts and rich details. Down to every single bolts and nuts in the engine bay to carpetted flooring etc. Then there are also people who pay close to $1000 for a resin model with 0 opening parts. Just a shell with intricate details hiding inside and under the bonnet you can't open. I can't appreciate the latter, but there are people who can. Is it a bad model? Is it overpriced? I can't say so myself. So yeah, after watching this video, I can definitely tell that the Kyosho is definitely targetted at a different kind of collectors, definitely not your cup of tea, but I don't think it deserves the bashing like you did. Because all you did is generate hate for it, and I can see the majority of your commenters are hating on it after that.

Hello again. Just a bit more information for you to consider. If you want better packaging for your cars then know that Kyosho has two lines of 1:64 models. The ones that you can buy in general stores, like the McLaren you reviewed, and a more "high-end" line that comes in acrylic cases and with some added details like antennas and brakes calipers. They can be a little pricier but still nowhere as expensive as a regular TLV and they are really, really nice. As for shipping, i always order directly from Japan as it is far cheaper than anything from the US. Also, some sellers offer free shipping worldwide if you buy for a certain amount. Worth considering if you are budget oriented (like me). Thank you for not taking umbrage and thank you @Ryo Hiyake for the added information. Cheers! :)

+Rio Hiyake Im now aware the base should be flat buy still.. A plastic base? 😣 On top of that, if the cars are not meant to be played with but if thats the case, Kyosho should just stick the wheels to the car with glue so it doesnt roll at all. No? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Just my thoughts. But then again maybe you are right, Kyosho is definitely not my cup of tea. First impressions are important and in this case, it was a bad one
