Al grew up without any money in a tiny house. Bullied because he was 2 years younger than his classmates all through school, graduating as valedictorion, bullied in college because he was only 16 years old, he never became bitter or hateful. Originally "based" would be used to praise someone from your own faction for thinking in a clever way, having the correct values and hating the correct people.

I got to meet the man in person last weekend on Halloween, at the "Nightmare Before Christmas Live Show" in L.A. . I screamed at him on stage like a jr high girl screams at Harry Styles. As our family group was leaving out the ADA exit, my sister-in-law (who paid for all this, I'm broke, so thank you) shouted and pointed towards Sir Yankovic. He was headed out past. The elevators. I ran up like I was a kid looking up at a superstar, even tho' I'm 6'5". He immediately stopped to take a photo with me and then fist bump me. I quickly blurted out that his signed pic used to hang in the barbershop I went to as a kid (He had family that lived in that town, so I always hoped to see him walk in for a cut, but, alas, it wasnt meant to happen) I was so giddy like a piddly puppy. The rush of memories and the confirmation that this timeless superstar is a genuinely nice person is a special moment that I will cherish. I liked the movie before the show, just not obsessively as some. But after the live show, and finally getting to see Weird Al on stage, I'm a huge fan now. My love for all things Weird Al, especially UHF, has brought me back to when my brother and I would listen to all of our dad's tapes in our room while playing Bionic Commando and Top Gun all night long. The long road trips when our parents would actually play Weird Al & Dr Demento to give us break from the hyper-loud rock or Michael Bolton or the worst, Enya (as a kid Enya sukt, now, ehh). On the ride home I went right to Spotify and played Weird Al music and haven't stopped since. My wife is a fan, not like me, but she enjoys listenin. She gets a kick out of my laughs and the stories I tell when certain songs or lyrics remind me of a good time when I was listening to Weird Al as child, teenager, young adult, and now an 40's something husband with a kid in college. God Bless you Weird Al Yankovic, your music genius was and is a part of my life. The opportunity to meet you was special, however brief, it meant a lot. The picture of you and I was immediately sent to my brother so I could brag like brothers do. Again, from the bottom of my heart, a huge fan, thank you, sir.

I was about 6 years old, the youngest of 12 with older siblings fresh out of College. One of those older siblings used a tape recorder regularly and listened to Dr. Demento all the time. They came home one day really excited and gathered all of us up to listen to a funny song being sung about our Family Car, a Plymouth Belvedere. A few years later I heard that same voice singing MY BOLOGNA, a parody of My Sharona by The Knack. I've been hooked ever since!! I was such a huge fan, I knew the entire Dare To Be Stupid album by heart. WORD FOR WORD. Weird Al will forever be one of the greatest Performers the Music Industry and Hollywood could ever have. @@katrinalynn6194 it's not the quality of the wine, it's about the type of wine. Not every wine undergoes the same type of fermentation process. Lol, I live in one of the top 3 wine producing provinces in the world, awesome wine is cheap and abundant, "cheap" as in "bad wine" is not a thing here, there are no boxed wines here, (maybe in the capital you could find some, but why?) one of the very few perks of Chilean wine country. Take care and try to remember that oxidation knows no bounds.

Do you mean Al doesn't mature? Because he definitely ages. He looks incredibly old now compared to when he first got famous and his hair is all gray now too and can't even curl up like when he was young. Al definitely also has an expiration date too and at 60+ he is closer to it than ever before. He might go to sleep one day and just never wake up. The reality of life can be harsh but its still beautiful. Al isn't something the elite will ever push again and so Al will quickly be forgotten by the world and when his last fan expires as well that'll be the end of his entire mark on this world.

I don't have a comment to match the eloquence of anybody who has posted already. Been a fan of Al since about 1990. This video made my day and cheered me up.

Al's humor is like a Dorito chip. It never gets stale. EDIT: I accidentally put Cunningham's law in practice by making this comment about Doritos.

The Williams College mascot is the Purple Cow. The teams are called Ephs, after the founder, Ephraim Wiliams.

In my case, I used to wait until "fat" came on MTV, videomusic or whichever channel and laughed my ass off, then Amish paradise, smells like Nirvana, nevermind the chronology (and my missing caps) , anyway, that was over 30 years ago!still in high school back then.

I had the pleasure of meeting Al while working at a sushi restaurant in Charleston, WV. Man was incredibly kind, incredibly gracious, and incredibly tall. Glad to see you putting out funny content😁
