I found it unnecessary to open the motor casing just to disconnect the wires. For example, if you're replacing only the gear. With good lighting determine the raised areas on each spade clip. Take a small, thin, flat-bladed screwdriver and depress the tiny raised areas ('releases' if you will) then carefully wiggle and slide the spades off the terminals while holding the screwdriver in place, first taking care to make a note of the black terminal vs the red terminal for reconnection.

This is a great video! Thank you! My machine is intermittently brewing coffee, and then at other times passing water right to the tray. Sometimes it makes a partial cup of coffee and just filter the rest of the water to the tray. Do you know what needs to be looked at or replaced?

I have the same problem. Brew group well fastened and cleaned, motor connection good and encoder replaced. Should I try motor or circuit board replacement?

If your machine makes a rattling sound at the time when normally your brewing group moves. I would rather check if the gear of the motor is not damaged. Or that the brewing group is not quite in place. I would not replace the motherboard.

@@SpareTimeWorkshop the motor looks fine. I had to cut the lowest screw from brew group and I'm using now only 2 screws, but group feels solid. Could it still be the issue?

@@aksuli1 It's hard for me to judge that from here. But if it makes the same sound as mine. I would check to see if your brewing group is running smoothly. Your brewing group is properly seated. Your gears are not cracked or slipping on their shaft.

@@SpareTimeWorkshop no problems in the brew group itself. It's running smoothly.
