As a little background on Junna, she started drumming in 2011 when she was 15 and started winning drumming competitions a year later. She did play in the band now called Trident (can't remember what it was called when she was with them) but left to become a very sought after session drummer. She uploaded this video when she was 24 and is currently 26 and still uploading great videos. Not sure she could keep this pace in a long concert but her solos would be amazing. If you want to see her again, I am another vote for Painkiller.

@@1dognight166 She is currently a freelance or session drummer so she plays with a lot of different people in studio. Her work is very likely on many different albums but you wouldn't know it unless you read the credits. I don't think any of her gigs are backing band stage performances or you would probably see them on KZread. She does have some solo public performances on her KZread channel. Everything on her KZread channel is worth watching.

Junna is just on another level of drumming. She started to play drums with her 15 and now she's 26. She was in band called Kukumei, now Trident, till few years ago but she left. Tightness, speed and power besides her stamina. She is little Japanese powerhouse with pigtails. But beyond everything, she is real showman and she is so fun to watch.. I just love her. Junna! ❤️❤️❤️

Mr. Heretic, you'll love this then. Gee Anzalone - the drummer of Dragonforce - reacted to this same video. He had a smile on his face the entire time, like a happy father watching their child play and play for the hell of it and enjoying it. He said that this was his favorite drum performance of TTFAF, outside of him playing it himself. Junna is really REALLY good. She's taken on Doki Doki Morning, Painkiller (Judas Priest), Ashes of the Dawn (Dragonforce), as well as leading her own bands. She's phenomenal. If you want a fun ride, react to her drum cover of Painkiller. you'll have fun there!

This is one reaction I was looking forward to. Gee Anzalone said she was THE BEST. She has her peddles set very tight. A slight touch sets it off. I was very lucky to chat with Junna on Sunday. It was a one way chat as she doesn't know English. LOL! Off the drums her life is completely opposite. Quiet and giggle, she loves cosplay, dresses up in frilly outfits. Sweet girl. On the drums she murders them. I have never seen a bad review from a drum expert. Junna is simply the best. There is a whole line of Japanese musicians that are off the charts. Yoyoka Soma is a first class drummer. Yoyoka is 12 now. Yoyoka got endorsement deals at the age of 8. Super young at 8 here playing of Led Zepplin's "Good Times Bad Times is spectacular. I don't know if you can get past Yoyoka's picture. Yoyoka looks like a baby yet beats those drums like a real pro.

If you sit on your throne and the only things that are moving is your arms you have lost the fans.Hell dance enjoy your self encourage your band mates to do the same.I am sure there will be many who disagree I am sorry just my opinion.Dave sorry to be so wordy but I agree with you.

Greetings! Straight to the point, that flaw that you mentioned for me is just her interpretation of the song, and when you said that you were impressed with how she recovers, for me is that she got the skills to make that style on the interpretation without falling behind, for me she's a solid 10 in my book! But I'm just a music fan not an expert, just my opinion! And I saw another reaction from drummers to her video that thinks similar to me on the aspect to the part that you hear/see the flaw. Anyways is just a matter of opinion based on taste of of styles I guess. Sorry for my English, isn't my first language, Spanish is. Thanks!

This the best reaction video of that drummer's video that I've seen! 👍 The reviewer's commentary was not just enthusiastic, but it included information that added to the original video. One reviewer pretty much simply said, "Wow!" ... which is understandable; but, it didn't add much - especially for us non-drummers. (Former bass player here - R&B and Funk).

Thanks for checking out Junna. When it comes to the Japanese rock scene, a lot of people focus on the guitar shredders, but where Japan is really killing it is the huge amount of talent on the back line. All of the bands that are really good have drummers and bassists who just crush it.

Gee Anzalone (the drummer for Dragonforce) came out and said this was his favorite cover of the song because he loves how much fun she seemed to be having when she recorded this. He made a point that I took as basically saying that drummers who are looser, are looking like they’re having a good time, and are not as afraid/hunched up are more entertaining.to watch.

Well, I guessed 8.8 as an optimistic score, which is still great as we know, so choosing between a 9 and a 9.1 is amazing! I had trepidation about requesting this drum cover from Junna, as I thought about A: a drum cover and B: the played to death DragonForce song. Knowing you love stage presence and showmanship, I took the risk of requesting it and am so glad it bought you so much enjoyment. Thank you.

15:22 The "lightness" of her feet remind me of Scott Buchanan from Unleash The Archers. Even though she double kicks orthadoxically(not a real word but you get It haha) with kicking LRLRLR, whereas Scott uses the heel/toe technique with kicking LLRRLLRR, they both are super light with their feet. I'm no drummer, but like any skill that needs high precision, putting too much "Gusto" into it throws off accuracy, and also just straight up wastes energy. I recently came across a young girl drummer on KZread who absolutely slays the drums. She reminds me of a mini Shannon Larkin (Godsmack drummer) with her flares. She covers some extremely insane metal tracks. To Dave and all who read this, check out Anastasia Sereda(channel name) here on KZread. You won't be disappointed 🤘

I think these are recorded in front of a crowd, in a couple of videos they show the crowd behind a glass like screen. She only stared drumming as something to do with her dad, so they could spend more time together. And her teacher said she was just a natural. She has said that she is looking for a band. Mind you there are drummers that are happy not being in a band, and just being session musicians. I saw 1 how was 16 play live for a band full of tallent, but the drummer was so good it was silly, and that was Kande Sato.

Regarding bass pedal positioning; In my personal experience during my earlier years when I was still learning to have confidence in my drumming abilities, I would rest the beater against the drumhead as pretty much a security blanket out of a fear that I would not hit it at the correct times, so yeah; another confidence issue coupled with youthful inexperience, just like I shared in my first comment regarding falling apart instead of recovering after a flub.

She is a really good drummer and I really like watching her play, but I did have the feeling she somewhat overshadowed/overpowered her bandmates in her previous band with all her energy and charisma. I only have seen a couple of the songs she did with them, so I might not have the biggest sample size, but that might be why they decided to part ways. They also found a great replacement for her so I think all is good on both sides. That being said, I do think she is a great performer and will keep watching her covers. I am curious to see if she wants to play in an other band and if she does, how well she fits in. She certainly is talented enough to play most genres in at least rock and metal.

While I agree that she used to grab the spotlight back in Trident/GRBK, I wouldn't say that she wasn't a good fit... To me at least, she was the magic touch that made the band really fun to watch. Nowadays I still check them out from time to time, and they are still a cool band, but that feeling of excitement is gone without Junna.

Great reaction. My guess was 8.9 so I ended up a bit low. Not sure about the render process, but for some sections the Junna video did drop lots of frames which is quite noticeable when it's a drummer on jet fuel. My guess about heavyfooted play is that it's people that needs to fight to keep their legs fast enough and so running out of coordination.

I'm sure you know by now she come from the band TRIDENT 🔱 they played underground punk and hard rock scene. And they're one of the best bands no one's heard of . Legit vocalist also plays the rhythm guitar JUNNA on drums. And their BASSIST. For the most part is their lead. They just turn her loose she has carte blanche on solos they know she's bank. People will keep suggesting Voltage. that was the last one with JUNNA, don't do it. Dude, Do "NO REGRET" from 2017 They flat out got lucky JUNNA replacement. They got a legit banger. Also, you being a BASSIST Ch"t "AMBIVALENCE" It's with their new drummer When they showed the dislikes she had about 2500 ish; those are the 40-year-old drummers in a fetal position sucking their thumb. Dgg'n your channel 🤘

Talking about drumming you could check Eloy Casagrande ( Sepultura's drummer) cover of Slipknot - People=Shit He's a Beast on drums, not only by hitting hard but also extreme technique. Greets from Brazil!

Well, you have to watch her Painkiller cover now... you have no choice. But she was the drummer of the band now known as Trident...and was supposedly overpowering :/ That's a good video to watch btw: Trident "Voltage". A little bass solo in it for you too.

All I could think of was “This drummer is at the wrong gig”. I’m sure Dave has seen that, it took KZread by storm a few years ago. I don’t know if she could pull that type of stuff at the speed she has to play this, but that drummer probably couldn’t either. There’s only one way to find out. I’d love to see that! This also sprang to mind: kzread.info/dash/bejne/fmGH0ZZ9fKfcd8Y.html
