Your steering column isn't bad, those tilt bolts are just loose. It happens, just remove the blinker assembly and the bolts are down in behind

I was thinking of the same thing. My dad used to fix that problem all the time for people when I was a kid. It's not that bad of a fix. People climb in the truck pulling on the wheel from the side and it doesn't help the tilt bolts by doing that 😂

Used to repair those on a regular basis (Stolen recovered theft) those pins do happen to work their way out over time though.

Hey, put that LS engine in that cool looking green-patinaed truck you found at the yard. That truck looked great, at least the color and patina. You take care big guy!😊

If you pull the steering wheel off and get down into the column there's three bolts that typically come loose on a tilt columns tighten them up and see if that resolves your sloppy steering column issue

Actually they do know one thing....how to make your pocketbook lighter! A patient cured is just lost billing to them. I'm not just mouthing off here...years of personal experience have proven to me that this is true. Puddin'...When looking for a tilt GM steering column you might also look at Jeep CJ's as Jeep used GM steering columns for the CJ's and many were the tilt style (probably due to space limitatioins in the old CJ's.)...Enjoy your channel very much!!!

Om so glad you have respect at salvage yards man. There's nothing I HATE more than people who destroy shit while pulling parts. Lazy people who just pull and snap plastic to get to shit or people ripping dash covers off, man i hate when people do that shit.

Square body columns are different over the years! Different splines for rag joints, different wiring, etc. You can adapt some and match up wiring colors to make things work, but grab everything from both vehicles to have your best chance for success.

I have PTSD also and bad case from a 4-1/2 hr home invasion done by 3 guys with ski masks on and each had a hand gun. They hog tied me up and wrapped duct tape around my head to cover my eyes. But found something that really helps me and that is Nano processed CBD oil from Railroad Remedies. It’s not cheap but for the first time I don’t have constant flashbacks.

Yes, tilt is a rare thing to find and most of them are bad. It's a common failure, but also an easy fix. If the metal isn't broken or the holes wallered out bad, you can fix them for next to nothing even if you have to replace the tilt pins/bolts.

Gotta laugh at that tv remote bringing back a memory or two. The first remote I had actually clicked (hence the clicker) It had small rods that the buttons would tap on to get the functions of the tv to work. No batteries needed.

You should do a build with the new box trailer (or toolbox bed sides) & have yourself a dedicated setup for when you're doing work away from the shop. Small enough you could haul it with just about anything. That gap between the boxes would be great for hauling parts & the boxes would always be full of tools. No more rounding up (or forgetting) tools. Could eventually add an air compressor, jump boxes & maybe a mobile welder or something. And it would be a good place to store old tools you don't use often or have duplicates. More shop space. 🤣

I am not the Chevy luv guy. But I do remember hearing they where using S-10 spindles and rotor,calipers and brakes as a upgrade. Maybe worth looking in to.

These journeys of junkyard scavenging don't bother me one bit as I did my best at destroying everything that I was trying to salvage. You were about 4 small bolts away from being able to replace the rack for that ignition switch. Maybe you should get the tool to compress that lock plate spring!

Hope you feel better soon! I don't have the luxury of calling out sick either at work... I can't afford any extra days off. I usually live off of DayQuil until I get home and take a nighttime one to get to sleep. Just make sure to eat whether or not you feel hungry. You need the calories to fight off the sickness. There is a respiratory sickness going around here recently... It went through our warehouse about a month ago and last week it got to my nephew's school. I'll be looking forward to Mondays video.

If you need a cheater with your combination wrenchs put your box end on the nut/bolt then grab another combination wrench and put the box end on the open end and try to apply force to loosen or tighten if it feels way wrong switch to the other side of the open end makes life easy when you gotta use combination wrenches

the Isuzu trooper through 86 should bolt right up....even has slotted discs

When pulling a used steering column always mark your steering shaft up or you'll break your clock spring, then (if you want a horn and blinkers that work) or you'll be in the same boat your in for the reason your having to buy one. Lmao those columns aint bad to rebuild though.

Your square body columns are 1973-1983 and 1984-1994. Difference is the newer ones have an integrated turn signal switch with wipers and dimmer. 83 or older has the wiper switch on the dash and the dimmer in the floor.

Just rebuild the column. Super fun and easy!!👍🏻
