I had a Camaro just like this one back in the day. Thing had so much torque it would throw you in the back seat. Never thought that motor would run 8.0s. Mighty impressive!

The old 96 only LT4 actually came with aluminum Crane roller rockers from the factory. they were advertised at 330 hp but it is commonly believed to be more like 350. They had a 6300 rpm power peak I believe, and could run with '97 C5 LS1s.

The lt1 on a crank dyno makes 361 hp and 391 ft torque. They 10:4:1 conpression. The lt4 cars made a little more because of the intake etc. people just dont realize its the highest hp sbc production engine made.

I have a 96 LT1 Caprice I'm building and this guy is a HUGE inspiration to me on my build man

Love watching the Grub-Worm run. Seen the car run at Bradenton, have been a fan ever since. Tick Performance always puts on a great show.

I always love seeing an old car bust a new ones ass🙂👍 One of my very long time buddies has a '67 Camaro small tire car, and he has never had the cash at his disposal like a lot of racers and would use old hand me down parts that some of our buddies gave him or sold him very cheap. I know there had to be times that those guys ha to have wished they hadn't given them to him when he's outrun them with their old parts and they had top of the line new parts. And ol "kamikaze" on "Street Outlaws" is another good example of this too. And "Flip" before him. Good luck to everyone out there doing this. It shows his mechanical abilities as well as driving and reaction times too🤗🏆🏆

Not only do the people at Tick know their stuff, they build their own cars and are very nice to boot. Great group of people. Nice to see the car run this well.

@@robertwilsoniii2048 I agree with you I've own two lt1 fbodys and one ls fbody. The ls car ran good don't get me wrong but I really enjoy the lt1 low end torque and the looks of a lt car is more appealing to me but that's my opinion.

I like this guy, somebody comes to talk he puts his phone down stands up looks him in the eye, respect, something that really seems to be lacking in these times, car people are the best people, doesn't matter if you race them, show them, look at them, watch them race, you are the best most respectful people...

Old LT still putting in work, big props to that crew !!

I've built a couple of these Camaro's for road racing, I have the perfect build for this engine, these things are as fast as anything today, they just make more torque out of the corners, they can't touch em.

The shifts on that IDS Supra sound sexy as hell.

I thought of Ceetus when I watched this video. hes gotta get leroy back in shape!!

When someone has an LT1 today, you have to ask them: Do you have an LT1, LT1 or an LT1? Stock Mechanical Camshaft? Oh, an LT-1. Cool!

I had one in the 80's from the 70's with the stock solid lift mechanical camshaft(70 RS Z 28) Along with quite a few LS 6-7's from the 70's. Chevrolet really should stop reusing the same RPO numbers...
