Don't know if it's in the cards for you financially but if you're able to hold on the first property as a rental or a starter home for your kids to use when they move out I'd recommend it. Just with the cost of restate my late mothers house goes up about ~10k a year. Sure you need a real state agent and all the maintenance on top of it and the difference from where you live and where I'm at. But it just works out better financially and having a place for those in my family to move to if they get down on their luck or want to live in a different state is still a blessing.

Especially here in the upstate area where I live. I saw an old 64 Ford without the bed just a few days ago and me and my 17 year old daughter both said at the same time we'd put a wooden flat bed on it and drive it just like she sits! It satisfying to know that I've raised her right ñ

The 'captains bars' on a 261 are located in the side of the block above where the starter bolts on. They are around 1" long and are about 1" apart and run vertical. They should be about 3-4" from the starter mounting face (bellhousing). Also, on the opposite side of the engine, look for two 1/2" NPT plugs just above the pan rail. Between these plugs will be a boss with a 3/8" pin usually flush with the boss. These engines can be made to have a full flow oil filter by connecting the filter between the two NPT plugs and driving the pin into the boss, thus closing the internal oil galley and making ALL the oil go through the filter. You CANNOT use a stock filter from a 235 because this filter housing will not flow enough oil through it. The lines need to be 1/2" diameter. The 261 has siamesed cylinders with steam holes that need to be drilled into the head to prevent steam pockets from forming. If memory serves the last 3 digits of the 235 head used on early Corvettes was 848, and is supposed to be the best flowing head for a 235/261. I built a 261 bored .030, powering a gm MYA6 transmission (.73 overdrive) and a 9" with 3:50 gears running in a 51 Chevy half ton. I could get 18-20 mph on the highway going 70 mph. They are a good engine. Go to Stovebolt.com for all the info about Chevy sixes.

Holy Cow, Puddin. Was that 1320 video or just had a 1320 video sticker? Those guys bring the best of car videos. I think Cletus got his start there too, and here they have a Puddin air freshener! Next you’ll be racing in the Danger Ranger or 2.4hours of LeMullets in Florida! 👍🏻

Im pretty sure they were on the way back from King of the Open Road in Tucson. That truck does all the drag and drive events.

Mr Puddin you need that ice cream truck in your life. It was screaming your name begging you to take it home. Probably be another channel favorite. Probably a longer build as well.

I like what they're doing now with the lowered bigger truck and wider pickup beds. Think its good so some of the the bigger trucks don't go to waste. Oldsmobiles are sleep on still.

There are so really nice looking heavy trucks hiding in those weeds. Lots of work to get em out and running but they would make a cool project for someone with the time, skills and money. Great score of the tool boxes and bike.

I don't know about Oklahoma, but in Florida, those srw crew cab square bodies are pretty rare. There was a lot of golden nuggets in that yard. Just about everything you showed that was older than early 80s just isn't around anymore down here. Ole cash for clunkers took about everything.

Those utility beds sides would look good bolted on a wall in the metal fab shop area and used for storage.

That was quite a collection but, man alive, run a brush hog through that place once in a while! Lots of neat rigs there but the one that touched me was the old milk truck. I haven't seen one of those around since the late 60's or early 70's.

The old mowers were called Big Mows and were made by Swisher ... and are a bit collectible to folks who have owned them. One of the first zero turn mowers. The company is still building mowers, but sadly no longer the Big Mow.

I assume that seeing your air freshener hang from that guys LUV, was like a musician hearing their song on the radio. Stuff like that will never get old!!!
