Junkbot Undercover is the 2002 (?) sequel to the 2001 LEGO Club puzzle game Junkbot, whose graphics it seems to reuse wholesale. The goofy spy theme contrasts the darker soundtrack, darker environments, and much tougher challenges.
While recording this video, I had to solve absolutely every level myself, as there do not seem to be any online walkthroughs of the game, at least not that I could find.
For some reason, Junkbot Undercover does not seem to be as well-remembered as its predecessor. This is a shame, as, in my opinion, it is the better game. Where the original devoted quite a few stages to tutorial functions, simply demonstrating mechanics to the player for the "real" puzzles later, Junkbot Undercover has fewer toothless stages, and the challenges it offers are a lot trickier, at least if you aim for all Gold Awards. In addition, Junkbot Undercover actually has an ending! Not that I ever saw it when I was a kid. Without this sequel, the original feels incomplete to me.
I recorded this footage by running the game through BlueMaxima's Flashpoint, an astonishing Flash preservation project that I cannot applaud enough.

The developers of this game should release Junkbot 1 and Junkbot 2 Undercover on steam. I would so buy it in heartbeat. I remember playing this on the Lego website back in 2001. It's crazy how this game is now 20 years old and I was only 4 when this game came out. I miss those early 2000s flash and shockwave games. There were so many that I've played and I still remember playing to this day.

@@DeathBloodRider there is also a free, open-source flash plug-in available as a browser extension (or server-side, also) called Ruffle. Since it’s written in Rust, a type-safe programming language, it doesn’t have the same security issues that plagued Adobe Flash. It only supports content developed for older Flash versions so far, though, so content made after around 2013 may not work correctly.

@@Galidorquest no they still had the game on Legoclub.com but it got removed from the website in 2010 after I finished 2nd grade bit I think I could still play the game on websites like goodgame and jayisgames. But then after like 2012 you couldn't find or play the game anymore. The last time I played it was in winter break of 2012 I remember and I hadn't played the game ever since. And yeah I was 5 or 6 when I started playing it. I remember I would play with my sister (she was the one that found it) and we would get stuck on some really hard levels like trapped in the freezer and changing the lightbulbs etc. Lol some good simple freakin times. 😢
