When Sophie's voice cracked on the high note but then she immediately recovered and belted out that next note with the uttermost confidence is one of the best things I’ve ever seen. Absolutely queen, my winner of this year
I was so sad to see Malta last, Gaia did a great job and I thought her song was actually far better than what a lot of people thought, it's one of the songs I still listen to after the contest!

Ok but like Bzikebi was awesome ... they were adorable in those bee outfits, yes, but their harmonization was also spot on, and they had such high energy while still maintaining solid vocals. I agree Mariam was 100% robbed though, regardless of winning or not she still should've gotten more votes, for her stellar voice if nothing else.

@@elizabethmac1475 if i sounded like i was discrediting bzikebi that's not what I was going for, the point I'm making is that at this point it feels like we have no shot at winning unless we do something cooky and bizzare, not to say that cooky and bizzare is bad but it's really dissapointing watching good songs with a more serious tone be misstreated

@@pawtatuh Ah I see! That makes sense. I thought you might have been implying they only won because people thought their theme was cute or something... I've seen a lot of people criticizing or underrating Bzikebi in videos lately, so I kind of jumped to conclusions. Also I'm sleep deprived haha. I think unfortunately the online voters have been underrating more serious songs in favor of upbeat pop in recent years. Not that I have anything against pop, and I think the recent winners have definitely been good, but a lot of really good ballads have scored low with the voters, like Banshee, or the Netherlands' song last year.

i never really understood the hype with the bzikebi song, i think that was one of the not so good georgia jesc entries, but thats just my own opinion. On the other hand georgia shouldve won this year with out a doubt, i dont think any other georgia jesc entry has been more deserving of win or came close to topping mariams performance, it was just that good. I dont know if ill be able to rewatch this years contest for a long time if ever because ill just be horrified at the reminder that mariam didnt win. Mariam was robbed so hard, i feel so bad for her :(

And bzikebi was something extraordinary and bizarre in a kind of way. Ofc it’s unique at the same time melody represents georian culture too! How could you say that you don’t get the hype around it…

I think the song isn't great, but Gaia is. As to whether it's a joke I actually don't know, there was maybe one or two videos I've seen that put Malta high in their rankings, but it was pretty low for most people ... usually it wasn't last though, which is why I'm not quite sure if it's a joke -- could be people don't think of it as a winning song, but felt it wasn't the worst either.
