We did our best to give viewing angles, but there was a fair bit of jungle

Never been so entertained by watching dice being rolled through a 28mm Scenery forest for 45 mins before! 😅

We did our best to try and set up in such a way you can see whats going on, but in jungle it was tricky. Hopefully the arrows helped a little bit...

@@ModellingforAdvantage I‘m sorry if this sounded a bit harsh. I was really well entertained and it’s a Great scenery. It only shows you did. your homework when painting and basing those minis. Please do more of those Firefights! I‘m thinking about starting Bolt Action, having played some other Tabletop games before, but as a dad now I don’t really have the time for playing massive 4 hour battles(nor do I have the time to paint such massive armies, so getting a small infantry team and playing some Firefight that can be done in 45 Minutes seems a really nice alternative) Long story short: Please more of this!

@@ModellingforAdvantage Are there any Infantry Boxes you‘d recommend for someone who likes to take a peek into Bolt Action‘s Firefight rules? Does it make sense to buy the Starter Set for having a few games of firefight and continue from there, or is it better to buy a specific infantry set, since you won‘t be able to play with only 5 die per side and need to buy additional ones with the starter anyways? I‘m really fond of the idea of kicking some Nazi butt with British commandos. 😅 Oh and do you guys also ship to Germany?

You almost certainly want one of the main starter sets - get your tokensrules and everything. I see what you mean about dice and such though... that is annoying. We Don't generally ship outside the UK because it is prohibitively expensive to ship for a teeny private business like us. We had a look and it would be about £35 on top to ship it. Thanks mate, yeah I know a lot of the tress are just tress - but I guess they are probably not chestnut tress etc...

A fun looking game. The jungle terrain board really added to the immersion of the setting.

Great first MFA ‘Firefight’ video. I think that Firefight could be a great early entry point to Bolt Action for new players. Firefight boxed sets could be an amazing range for BA for very little extra work for Warlord Games, (A5 rule book, Firefight supplement, a sprue or 2 of Allied and Axis protagonists to make up a command element and a squad for each side, command dice, half a dozen D6 and a sprue of pin markers) pitched at £30 - £35. Themes and variety are potentially endless….Blitzkrieg Defence, Pacific Encounter, Desert Patrol, Commando Raid, Soviet Advance etc etc. , and new sets could be integrated into the release of new ranges such as the recent Hungarians or Italians to engender interest in a particular theatre or product range. I have watched several other Firefight BatReps on YT and played several games myself and although I think they are a useful addition to BA I do feel that they need to be tweaked a little in certain areas. As already indicated below by Jacob, that on such a small playing area I think that the ‘small unit’ modifier could be removed to allow the game mechanics to be levelled out a little to allow hits more often on 5-6, but grenades in combat seem to be an interesting addition that could bleed in to the main game. I agree completely. A bit of tweaking is required, but I am not yet certan exactly which tweaks... and as a intro to Bolt Action with little starter sets, I think it could be fantastic.

That was really good fun, thanks! It could make a really cool campaign series - have a pool of units from a platoon to play with and borrow the after adventure casualty roles from Frostgrave or similar to see who's OK / wounded / dead. You could have new green troops drafted in as replacements and heroic grenade-chucking types promoted / made veteran... Hmmm! That could be seriously fun, I might just give it a go myself! See, that's what I love about this channel - random inspiration! And willy jokes of course.

Really enjoyed this, look forward to seeing more Pacific action. I found ignoring the -1 for small team makes the game less frustrating, especially with larger boards and hard cover - you can hardly hit anything!

I can see what you mean. I was worried about it. To be honest though, on this game we were finished turn 5. As you say, hard cover and a bigger board are maybe not the way to go.

That seemed fun. Definitely like the touch of grenade to spice things up. I agree with Kaiser before that this would be extra cool to play at a larger scale. Only problem is, you need larger terrain...

Love this! great models, terrain and scenario. mind that the US chaps don't get the -1 for moving + shooting because of 'Fire and Manoeuvre' national rules. probably makes them pretty OP in firefight games I'd imagine? EDIT: Never mind - just spotted the rules: For reasons of balance and fairness, the only safe way to deal with these is to say that in games of Firefight, no army special rules apply, unless the players agree otherwise. Carry on! :D

They are alright. Like a lot of terrain, on their own they are nothing special, but in a board full of terrain they do the job nicely. We have used his 15mm and 25mm sets. These ones were the 25mm, ones.

Was last move of game allowed? You snapped to said advance then changed to fire to throw the grenade then the next guy advanced?
