Tattoos are very tabo in SK and that’s why even these days when he goes to music shows (on national tv), he needs to hide them (for instance Inkigayo). Hopefully there will be a day when SK is more accepting to things that are very normal such as tattoos.

he was never hiding his tattoos from the public he didnt finish his sleeve yet so he wanted to finish first before showing plus they had to heal and you need to cover them for that also tattoos are banned on korean tv so he has to even today he has to cover them on music shows, award shows, tv interviews, variety shows etc the reason he covers them in bon voyage and in the soop is cause both of those got put on korean tv so they HAD to blur or cover them. he wasnt forced by the company. its the law. tattooing is illegal so having tattoos isnt a good look cause you had to go to a tattoo artist who tattooed you illegally.

I think that is one good thing about the kpop world being international now. Is international fans treat them the same as western artists and I think because of the scrutiny that the kpop world is under is slowly changing the way idols can act now. When JY Park created Stray Kids, in an interview he said that people dont want these carefully crafted idol groups anymore, they want real people and they want to see the normal side of an idol. Which is why I love how BTS has been able to be themselves.

Sadly people have put Jungkook in a box and have infantilized him because he is a maknae, they've infantilized all members to some degree and I HATE it they are GROWN men. JK has always been savage, unbothered and has a calm personality. If you pay attention to him he is actually manly and acts like a typical guy his age. Obviously he is still a big goof ball. And like you've said before he doesn't give off a maknae vibe, I agree, he's the youngest but doesn't really act the youngest because he's very hands on and it seems a very reliable person.

I love that JK freely acts himself and doesn't care about what people think because that just shows how genuine and real he is as a person, rather than putting on a fake image to please his audience. This man is a literal ADULT who is free to do what any other human being is allowed to do. People need to stop babying him and making a fuss about things that people usually wouldn't bat an eye for just because he is an idol. We love JK for who he is💜

I think jungkook has always had this sassy, slightly rebellious and tenacious attitude and I love it sm! He was more shy in their early days but if you watch enough of their older vids you can see it in him even then. It’s one of my favorite things about him and I find it so admirable how true to himself he has always been.

I have a good friend who works setting up sound equipment for concerts. He did BTS concert in Texas, I was so jealous he met them and has pics to prove it. Anyway, he said Suga, RM, Jungkook, Jimin and Taehyung all smoked. He said J-hope and Jin never smoked. He also said they take a shot of whiskey before going on stage. Since he is a good friend for many years I believe him, this was back in 2018. While I wish they did not smoke as it will eventually stop them from dancing hard then their singing voices will go, it is their lives, they know the dangers, and how it will affect their careers in the future. Considering what they do for a living and then all the pressure and stress between the job itself, the media, internet freaks, shippers and haters I would be smoking and drinking too, maybe more LOL

People change over the years due to many reasons. However, I think what we need to remember about kpop industry is that companies potrait idols in a role what’s better for the image of the group/artist. There have been numerous occasions where idol had to change their personality bc it didn’t fit in company’s narrative. (Look up L from Infinite) I feel Jungkook has always been the way we see him today. For sure he has become more confident about himself and his skills comparing to very young Jungkook. But the company pushed the narrative of Jungkook being a baby, is ”nothing” without his hyungs, needs the most to look after ect, just because he happened to be the youngest, FOR YEARS even when he was an adult. Sure he is cute and adorable but he is also witty, savage, strong-willed and many other things that makes him an independent grown as* man.
