I just adore him. His smile, his voice, his expressions, his beautiful personality. Just because I say that cringey stuff, I really don’t want to be seen as a desperate fangirl. I just love to tell people how much I adore Jk and BTS. I genuinely love everything about them. The number one thing on my bucket list is to meet BTS. That is my biggest dream ever. Genuinely I cry every time a concert comes up and I am not able to see it because it’s so far away 😭💗

I can say from. My own choir experience that it’s actually easier to learn lyrics in a foreign language than it is learning to speak one.

Yes he has. They all have. They're almost to the expert level now in my opinion. Pretty close. Or well obviously some more than others but still. They actually shocked me at how well they can speak English now. (Not really talking about RM that much tho but you know why that is. It's because we already knew he understood and is speaking it)

10 years later. I think 10 month.

He has come a long way. All that exposure abroad helped a lot and exposure to English songs too. He tries to decipher the English lyrics. It's his way of learning. I was so happy with the 'overwhelming'. He's so endearing I would have hugged him too if I were in Jimmy's shoes. Appreciative young man.

That must be so hard to put yourself out there like that. Think about it. JK has to take the question in from a language he is still learning, change it from English to Korean so that he can understand the question, come up with the answer (hoping that he understood the question correctly) and try to find the appropriate words in his ever growing English vocabulary, and then answer the question back to the interviewer in English while on camera with everyone watching him and all the while praying that he doesn't embarrass himself and his members. Amazing. Kudos to JK!!!! 😊

Massive props to JK for learning English in the first place!! English is one of THE hardest languages to learn, with all its exceptions and nuances and words that are borrowed (stolen?) from other languages. If it's your native language, consider yourself extremely blessed. I learned to read English at such a young age, that I don't remember the process (come to think of it, the fact that my Indian immigrant parents taught it to me when I was 2 is an even bigger feat). Once I started school, I couldn't understand why my classmates struggled to read the simplest words. And now, 38 and learning Korean for the last couple of months, I get it. I feel like a kindergartener when I read Hangeul, and my Korean handwriting probably resembles that of a little kid, and I have no idea what the logic is behind some of the phonetic and grammatical rules (Duolingo is really dropping the ball here). But one day it'll be worth it. Stay on it, sweet JK. Someday you'll even surpass RM, and ARMY is here for it! 보라해요 전정국! 💜

Have you tried French? 😂 it's my mother language, still, I think it's harder than English 😂 there is a lot more exceptions than in English and all the rules for the verbs are so complicated. I even have to do a french test a week ago althought I'm in my first year of college (I'm 18yo) but they know most of the students are not good in French 😂

I can understand that in this line of business and I guess global business in general, it is very beneficial to be able to understand and speak English. Learning English seemed to be something JK is passionate about and proud of. He is doing great. I only know bits of a few other languages. I cannot really hold a conversation. I know with consistent study I would be much better but time does not always allow it. I applaud JK for this.

Aw he’s doing such a great job and he’s come so far! It’s really not easy, i’m a conversation tutor and most people are so nervous to speak in another language at all even when it’s just the two of us, much less do it on camera or in front of a crowd. For many people the lack of confidence is the biggest hurdle but he’s just throwing himself into it, and you really have to admire him for that

Literally this. I've been learning Korean for over a year and there is no way I would try to have a conversation with a native speaker. I'm too intimidated and my pronunciation is so bad. I know that's the only way I can improve, but I'd be too embarrassed.

@@misspriss2482 I really do think having a conversation tutor helps so much, because we really are here to help you, correct mistakes, make suggestions for how to speak more naturally and we are not judging you for your mistakes. And just getting enough practice to be able to express your thoughts gives people so much more confidence even if their grammar etc isn't perfect

Wow. His commitment to learning is fantastic. As an English as a foreign language teacher, I can tell you that English is one of the hardest languages to learn, both gramatically (after a certain point, mastering all 13 tenses and 3 conditionals, is super difficult) and sound-wise (for example, the "th" sound, called an unvoiced fricative, is hard to master if you did not start using it at a rather young age). BUUUUUT, as we ARMYs know, Jung Kook is the golden maknae! He has an uncanny ability to imitate sounds he hears, as we have seen when he sings, which is helpful in learning new languages. As he has often said about his craft, he constantly wants to improve. I think he is bringing that same mindset to the table with learning English. And if he can work at learning English, we ARMYs owe it to him and the others to learn a little bit of Korean as well.

Yeah Learning English is so hard for korean. We dedicate over 10 years to learn English but still it is difficult to be fluent. If Jk went to school in his teenage days, he will be better at speaking English. But as all we know he was in training, that’s why he was not that good at speaking English.
