What does he mean?

If you notice at 0:30 he says that he ran toward the sun every morning probably meaning trying to go according to world rules but at 2:40 he says even if it's opposite of the sun he still run.. Meaning he keeps working no matter the world is with him or against him he believes in hard work

that's a possible interpretation but more likely than not he's just literally talking about how he works both night and day with minimal rest. i.e. "I ran towards where the sun rises every single night" = He worked from dusk to dawn and "even if it's opposite of sun" = even if it's nighttime he's still "running" = working

OMG YASSS!! 😭💜 I reminded that part and it hurt so much I cried like crazy! I can’t, my heart hurts so much right now.

The fact that this song is misunderstood by so many people just proves the whole point of it. Even in his performances, his outfits, choreography and that vibe could be misinterpreted to be something dirty, but that's the whole point, because he joined Bangtan when he was 15 and was sexualised so much in the further years. These lyrics really just touch my soul, and mak me want to empathise with him because he lost his childhood having cameras around him all the time and was forced to grow up before time.

Jungkook wanted to tell us how his time spend so fast and for this he couldn't able to contact with people like we normal people do. We enjoy every moment with our family, hang out with our friends but he started his singing journey at young age so at age of 15 we enjoy ourselves with fullness but he was so busy with his busy schedule. So he couldn't able to feel those feeling or spend those days like us. At this point now he feels like his life is incomplete. He want to live like us, he want to walk freely at road, play in playground with his friends, family just like the way we do. He desperately wants to enjoy his life with fullness. I'm not crying, I'm not crying...

@@bt21art43 I guess I can help so what she meant was jungkook debuted at a very young age of 15 and people of his age usually hang out with friends and date and stuffs but he wasn't really able to do any of this because of his career and missed a lot of things that he could have done when he was still young so he thinks he kinda incomplete...and still is because of his idol life :( he can't live freely and "wildly" (how usually people his age lives)because first he just cant because he doesn't have the time and freedom to do so I hope this helped:) I am not the best at explaining :/

_"I'm a little kid grown up not knowing it"_ I actually feel bad for Jungkook. Imagine being a trainee at 13 and become a member of a group at *15. That must've been hard for him. He didn't experienced the pleasure of being a child/teen and just jumped into the harder and mature level. I love him so much so it hurts me if I l'll see him being pressured and suffering from this judgmental world so people should know that they are humans too that needs privacy and gets tired. So please let's protect him/them at all costs.

The sad part is yes they are worldly, but he hasn't really lived a real life. Hes been living with his friends,his boys since an early age. I'm turning 60, my granddaughters hooked me on BTS. The scary part is what happens when they no longer live together, because it's the only way he knows. I feel sad for him most of all because he went in so young and the reality is they won't always all live together. I pray him and the rest can deal with the reality of the real world. Not just him, but the others haven't had real dating lives, long relationships. I worry for all of them when they move separate ways.

Take solace in knowing that Jungkook has good friends and mentors on his side. One of his idols he looks up to, Minwoo from Shinhwa and the entirety of that group have stayed close friends and still make music to this day. With such examples to follow, I'm sure he'll turn out just fine~

I'm pretty sure some of the members don't live together anymore. I know V doesn't since he mentioned decorating "his home" a few times. Hobi had post a few photos inside his own apt too. Seokjin bought an apt near the dorm. So I'm sure jungkook is slowly but surely setting himself for the future too and not be too dependent on his hyungs. The boys are grounded and i think they know this is not going to last forever. Edit: I'm pretty sure more than half are dating too. Some for years. The boys are in pretty good shape life wise I think. Jungkook probably is sad that he doesn't have time for other things in life.😢

This really hurts because Jungkook is clearly talking about his struggles on not being able to do things people in their early 20s do. He wasn’t able to live his childhood and because of the packed schedules and judgemental society, he can’t even live as a normal 22 year old. He can’t even go outside without people twisting his actions into something malicious. That’s why he’s always questioning if he did the right thing - people constantly try to make it seem like he’s in the wrong to stir things up and gain attention. I hope he’ll be able to have his time soon. A time when he can live.

It really has been unfair for him you know, from just 16 years he’s just been in the spotlight, he barely has time to breathe let alone have time for himself. Everything probably moved so fast around him he couldn’t keep up, hence why he’s in a different time and place from others, he wasn’t able to enjoy simple pleasures of life as a normal kid. It doesn’t mean jungkook is ungrateful, but it just shares some of the pain that comes along with being an idol, jungkookie we love you so much, if I could go back and grant you more time to yourself I would :(

I think in this song Jungkook is trying to say that his life has gone too quickly yet he still feels like he's stuck in time at the same age as he debuted at because he's still curious about the world out there, he feels like a lost child because there are so many things he didn't get to experience as a normal teenager those are his losses, the TIME he LOST and I think he's trying to say that one day he wants to finally find time for himself completely away from cameras and media, so he can experience his life to its fullest potential as a normal person, even though it may be a little later, it's better late than never, right? Also, I feel all the members could relate to this, but Jungkook the most since he's the youngest and all the others had finished skl by then. I definitely can relate to this since I'm the same age as he was from when he first debuted, even I feel like my life has flashed before me, the most beautiful moments in my life and I feel that's what he's trying to say. He's lost these moments to his amazing dream which he's achieved successfully and he's so grateful for, yet his teenage childhood is probably the most important because you learn and experience so much and that helps in your future, maybe Jungkook didn't get that. Love you Jungkook and I hope that one day you find the happiness you deserve and experience everything you couldn't as a teenager and young adult. Because I feel like he’s talking about his friends and family that are used to his absence in their personal lives as they know that he is always busy. Jungkook is aware of it himself and it must dwell on his mind a lot. He probably feels guilty that he doesn’t have enough time for them but I’m sure they understand it’s not his fault. His friends and family are moving on with their lives (“Everybody walk too fast”) and turning into different people while he’s still stuck in yesterday remembering who they used to be. 😢😭 Time spent is precious. Time lost is regret. Time moves fast, sometimes too fast and you find yourself stuck at a place in time. Times full of memories that you have enjoyed perhaps as a kid. I seems like in a blink of an eye you are grown. You are not ready for the transition but time doesn't wait for you to catch up. My father past and I realized time is precious and once it's gone it's gone. I used to work overtime until he passed. Money wasn't as important as time spent with my family. Jungkook is still young and I hope he finds Peace as he catches up with his family and friends and I hope he is able to catch up with his time. Cheryl Postell You’re right. I think that lyric resonates with me so much because I can relate. It’s my last year of school and I’ve got my GCSEs in a few months. All my friends are working hard and they know what they want to be while I thought I knew but it keeps changing. I can’t keep up and time just seems to slip past me. The days go by so quick and I can’t find it in myself to care. It’s getting to the point where I’m so hopeless. Things at home are getting worse so it’s not even like my “family” can support me through this. I always say to myself that I’ll try harder and be a better person, but the littlest of things bring me down and I’m back to square one. I don’t know, I feel like I’m just watching my life go by, waiting until it ends. I also hope Jungkook finds peace, he has worked so hard for so long and he deserves it. They all do.

@@jishoumushoku5094 Do not, please do not get discouraged. You will find your Time. Keep working hard. Lean on your friends to help you through. Question what is your passion? What is it you like to do? What is your major? You keep changing because your unsure. Sometimes you are able to talk it out. When we stress or becomes anxious our vision gets cloudy. Sometimes an ear or a friend can help you to calm and then you are able to see clearly. Step back and weigh your options. Writing helps me. I write it down and revisit what I wrote later. The sun will set but will rise again. YOU will be okay as long as you keep going. Things will change, days, months, will change. You will change too. Let people who love you get you over this hump. It's a big step I am sure. "You're nice keep going" (in my Jimin voice) you have gotten this far. It may be a rough road but try to get through it. Weigh your options. Just keep telling your self you will get through this. In the mean time if you have a hobby, or an interest in something that will help you to stress less do it. Running, swimming, taking photographs, singing, drawing, dancing, building something, writing, watching comedies, reading. Find something to help you to stress less. People care remember that and are willing to help if you let them. 😊 I hope I helped just a little. From one person to another. 💜💜☺

Cheryl Postell I don’t have hobbies because the things that I used to enjoy just don’t feel the same. I’ve tried writing what I feel but I read it back and then feel worse because there’s no reason for me to have those feelings. I can’t draw, paint, sketch. I can’t even play sports because I tore the ligament and cartilage in my knee and I’m waiting for surgery. Nothing entertains me but I feel so restless. Like something is missing but I don’t know what, or like I’m longing to be somewhere else but I don’t know where. As for my friends, they don’t really bother with me. I’m always there for them, I can’t stand seeing my friends hurt or sad so I try to help them in any way I can. But when I’m sad, they either don’t notice or don’t bother to ask so I always hide how I feel. You could ask anyone at school and they’d say I’m the loudest and happiest person alive. But I actually have a laid back, kind of pessimistic personality. I feel like I’m just making excuses to you. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not depressed, I’m not suicidal, I can smile and laugh at things but it’s become less frequent. I suppose there is one thing that I 100% want to do with my life but the odds are against me so it’s very unlikely I’ll ever do it.

I’m crying so much right now I feel so stupid for not thinking of this. I was too young to realize he didn’t have his family to hold all the time.

The "I can't call you" and "I can't hold you" and "I can't touch you" breaks my heart so much... it's almost obvious he's talking to potential friends and family and maybe even someone he really loved and he had to turn his back. Even that tattoo artist who could've been his good friend- see "I can's hold you" and "I can't touch you" because there is so many people I need to not disappoint (which shouldn't have to happen), and also mom "I can't hold you" and "I can't touch you" and "I can't call you" because I am across the ocean and I'm just 17 and every child needs mom sometimes (heck I'm 21 and I need her cuddles so often) and it's a rehearsal for a concert and I've been working non stop for days, 2 hours of sleep and I just keep going; when will it be my time to also have emotions, to also hug my friends and family, to live my feelings....

I think what he was saying here is that, he felt like he was growing and maturing faster than everybody else, however, he still felt like he was being left out. Yeah, i feel it. Like the members are his family but they are older than him, so he can't really call them his friend. I mean i know they are all good friends. But i feel like Jungkook doesn't have someone the same age as him, who understands him, listens to him and hangs out with him. Like Vmin is really lucky. They are the same age. The adlibs, the harmonization, the bridge, the background vocals all magically get into flow with his voice. The main vocalist knows his job too well.

This song is good but the lyrics hit me so hard, I imagine pre-debut Jungkook, a very shy passionate kid who keeps working so hard for his dream. He sacrifices so much in such a young age including his youth and his time for his parents. He was given so much responsibilities and he has no choice but to get matured in that young age because the industry he entered is cruel and not easy. I’m so glad he grew up into a wonderful person. I know time cannot be brought back but I sincerely wish him and BTS to become happy in their lives.

Hey at least this is a good sign that we are coming closer to Delcacomania😅Since he finished My Time, it means that he is working on our Sleeping Beauty too😂😂

This song is literally the story of every successful person. Maybe he is a professor or a doctor or a superstar. They did not reach that place just living an ordinary life. Maybe they didn't go to their friend's birthday party, maybe they never went to play outside, maybe from the very beginning of their childhood they only thought about their career. Maybe that's what their parents told them since they started going to school. That's got stuck in their heads and any other things seemed a diversion to them. Because of their hard work they did see the light of success but their thoughts will never be the same as another average person. But at some point they will feel like they've missed something important which can not be found now. Because there isn't much time left. That's how life is, you can not get everything together. You will always miss something.

...now im doubting to become a doctor or not... i spend so much time with the book in my hands plus helping my mom with her work...i am already regretting for spending so much time inside than going out and spending time with friends and family...idk

@@yourname-nh2tk Yea I've felt this way too :/ I think the best way to achieve what you want and not miss out on spending time with friends and family is to balance these two things out. Maybe you could incorporate time with loved ones in your schedule!

Very well explained. Whoever wants to succeed/ hv a comfortable life in this competitive world hv to go through that. We cant get everything we want in life. You gain some and you loose some. Love this song and JK

Absolutely beautifully said. This comment encapsulates the reality of life perfectly. Everyone has to sacrifice something. The ultra-successful and extremely well-educated people such as BTS and doctors/lawyers/engineers oftentimes go through what Jungkook is singing about through this song. The pursuit of high achievement oftentimes leaves little time for anything else, whether that be friends, free time, relationships, etc. etc. That's a sacrifice they choose to make. Others who either choose not to make those sacrifices or just coast through life without making that conscious decision might "live more" in the societal sense of the phrase, but never reach anywhere near the heights of success of those who do make those sacrifices. Of course, everyone likes to talk about "balance" and how one doesn't have to choose an extreme, but that is only something achieved with profound wisdom, extensive introspection, and life experience. In general, most people either fall on one side of the spectrum or the other (working tirelessly or relaxing endlessly). It's up to each individual which one they want to land on, and balance may or may not come with time (Jungkook shows his optimism that he will eventually find balance by the shift from I can't -> I will as the song progresses).

It is so freaking relatable.............. I would prefer to be a workaholic, I find it easier to spend time in learning or working than keeping all this attention. Somehow I feel that I have to live by myself.

and that's just voice.let him dance hard choreography with all those jumps,liftings and combination moves while singing,i bet no one can have that.stamina and still carry on to finish the song.antis and racists are indeed everywhere

when jungkook changes “can’t” to “will” it’s like he’s promising that one day he can see the people he loves, but now he’s just too busy with life. but he knows he will be able to someday.

@@thedinorealm2268 I know many bts fans dont want to admit it, but seriously my time lyrics isnt for us....its for somebody else/his girlfriend.. Its really personal to Jungkook... Just think about the chorus...I cant call you, I cant hold you, I cant touch you(well fans dont have his number,next its not like we can hold him right?).... i mean the chorus can mean his family or lover, but i think its more towards a lover/girlfriend. The reason why i think so is because Jungkook can always and anytime get warmth and love from his family members. I mean family bond and ties can never be broken. However you can break up with your girlfriend. So when he said he cant call her, cant touch her and i cant hold her, I think Jungkook is implying about his girlfriend. Also i like how he change from i cant to i will.... this sounds optimistic. Its like he is promising one day day he will be with that special person... and when Jungkook said he is happy to meet the person, from now till the very end, i almost cried. Jungkok plans to fight for his love. I mean Jungkook deserves to be loved, same as other bts members.

@@germaineho168 In my opinion thats really stretching it. All of those things you stated could be about a family, especially with these lyrics which kinda feels like is his way of saying his childhood was so hectic. He left to train when he was really young and obviously he misses his family. I also feel really comfort and warmth when i talk to my immediate family. Even though I havent seen most of them in 8(almost 9) years now. Some of my immediate family visit every few years but I miss being in that atmosphere with all of us hanging out. This is about Jungkook so anyways, idk how much time Jungkook spends with his family especially now BTS are at an all time high with everything and these lyrics could simply be about wanting to feel like a child and hanging out with his family. And also BTS have an unbelievable amount of popularity, like its seriously bigger than people realize anyways Jeon Jungkook is the main vocalist of BTS. Thats so much pressure imo. Being young and being put in the spotlight so much might make him think about stuff like childhood. "I can't call you, I can't hold you, I can't touch you" makes a lot more sense being about family then it does to being with a special partner and also "Am I livin' this right? Why am I the only one in different time and space" "friends ridin' subway i'm on airplane mode". I'm completely fine with Jungkook dating someone and falling in love, imo this korean thing really needs to change with the amount of pressure they put on idols and its sad that something so normal as dating is something that can almost ruin someone's career, but thats for a different paragraph. Anyways sorry for my essay but I'm just sharing my thoughts. It can very well be about a special lover but imo the lyrics say something different. Anyways have a good day and stream ON :D

@@DuyceStarMusic I agree that it could be about family members or a love partner... but I think it's more towards a lover..cause to be honest family bond and ties can never be broken... if jungkook misses his parents, he can just call them through his phone... but have you noticed that the lyrics is I `cant call you', who is this person that he cannot call? I feel like it's a lover. I mean you cannot severe ties with your family members. But you can break up with your girlfriend. And so when he said he cant call you, it probably means he cant go to this person probably because of his career or fans. But at the end the lyrics change to I will call you, I will hold you, so it ends up on a positive note..jungkook is promising that someday he will go back to this special person. Also he said` He is happy that they met each other, now till the very end' it's like he is saying that he is happy that this person comes into his life, and that he will fight for his love till the very end.I honestly feel happy for him. He deserved to be loved.
