Maknae is korean for the youngest in a group. So jungkook got the name golden maknae because hes good at everything. Hes golden. That also why he named his studio golden closet films.

Jessica .... to add on: think he named his studio Golden Closet cause his bedroom used to look like a big closet (literally) & his studio was in there. He doesn’t even have a place to sleep on cause it’s full of music gadgets, clothes & other stuff. JK often slept on Jin/Suga’s room. Glad he has his own music room/studio now! He kept the name... GC

As others have said 'Maknae' refers to the youngest of a group. But in 2013 RM gave Jungkook the nickname of 'Golden Maknae' because Jungkook can sing, dance, rap, he's good at many things. Back then in 2013 though not many people used that nickname and in a vlog the two of them did together RM told JK to use it more since he came up with it, to which Jungkook nodded and kind of got shy. Which was super adorable. 💜

Guys, in the introduction series by Gadaursan there's loads of old videos if you wanted to see more of those, you also get to see how they were back then and how they've changed over time. the series has 8 episodes: the first one is BTS as a whole group, and then it goes according to the fanchant (leader, then oldest to youngest)

Yes, they were trying to get him to look over to take his picture by teasing him like he's a baby you have to waive something in front of their face to get his attention 🤣. The older members did raise him, so they still tend to look at him like he's their baby.
