You two remind me of my husband and me. We're sailing on Discovery Princess to Alaska in a little over two weeks. I'm a planner and I want to maximize our time in each port. We're booked on the whale watching and Mendenhall Glacier excursion excursion that you did. Can't wait!

I always recommend booking through the cruise for excursions. Only want to have peace of mind the ship won’t leave without you if you are late!

No dolphins in Alaska….you guys are a hoot!

So glad this popped up. I am going to Alaska this summer. Endicott Arm & Dawes is one of the ports I will see. I am sure this is the most beautiful, breathtaking scenery. Going on the Ovation of the Seas! Can't wait to go! How did you like the cruise? Any tips or advice for me. TIA.

Thank you for watching! It really is incredible scenery and was one of our favorite vacations. We were taking a lot of photos and videos and needed to remind ourselves to just enjoy it. Have a great time!

@@ACoupleTravelers Definitely. I will stop and enjoy a little bit of everything. Plan to buy a new camera soon and take plenty of pictures. I will scrapbook my whole trip to Alaska that came 49th state 65 years ago. I was born in 1959. Perfect timing to go and explore and enjoy my 65th birthday. (2 months early).

We were thinking of taking the small tour boat from the ship to Dawes Glacier but If we take the Mendenhall Glacier and Whale tour, do you think it is necessary to do the small tour boat from the ship to Dawes Glacier as well

If it’s like our sailing, there wasn’t time to do both (it conflicts!) but if timing allows, I think it’s worth it to do both!!

You stayed on the ship for this?

Yes, people are meant to! There is one excursion that holds a very small amount of people, but this is meant to be viewed from your ship and then we head to Juneau where people get off…

how long does it take for bus drive from port to Mendenhall Glacier?

If I remember correctly, it’s 15ish minutes!

Such a cool excursion! We sailed to Alaska on the cruise right after you and absolutely adored out time. We seriously can't wait to sail again. We vlogged our experience too and we'd love it if you checked out our videos as well. Thanks so much for sharing - new subscriber here! :)
