June Local Food Procurement Working Group Meeting 6.27.24

Lindsay Smith, Regional Food Systems Value Chain Coordinator at the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG).
Caron Gremont gave an overview of the FRESHFARM Pop-Up Food Hub and Lindsay Smith provided a recap of the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG) Regional Food Aggregation and Distribution Summit, highlighting key strategies and collaborations aimed at enhancing regional food systems.
The Food Council is committed to continuing these discussions and working towards bridging the gap between institutional procurement and the purchase of local goods.
