Some of these sound more like Aardvark picks maybe? Because they are more diverse (and interesting). lol All good choices and I’m excited for June.

I’m honestly not sure what an aardvark book is anymore. They’ve gone a completely different direction the last few months featuring authors like Ali Hazelwood. I find that wildly disappointing as it was originally more literary focused, under the radar books, and definitely more diverse. It is interesting that you say that these picks are more diverse as this was possibly the least diverse BOTM prediction video I’ve ever done. I usually really highlight a lot more diverse books that could make good picks for either book club, but this month really was a month of trad published, big name authors.

@@AmyB913 yeah. I haven’t bought a book from them since James by Perceval. Everything after has been lackluster. No worries and thank you for checking out the videos! My mentality is always a balance of books I think are likely to be picked and books that I wish they would pick. In general, my channel is really focused on diverse reading, so I try to extend that into my predictions as much as possible too. I’m actually feeling fantastic! Thank you so much for asking. Recovery is going really well. I’m moving around with very little pain and while I do have to take it easy for everything to heal, I feel like I’ll be back to normal much sooner than I expected. 💜

Thank you! And thanks for catching that. I posted this video at about 5am while I was waiting to go in for surgery. I was kind of rushing to get it up, so mistakes always happen when I rush. 😅 I’ve corrected it now on the title (although it was correct on the thumbnail).

I wonder why there seem to be cycles of debut-heavy months and repeat-heavy months in the publishing world! Is that intentional for marketing? Like, people want summer reads by familiar authors?

I don’t know either. I feel like romances do well in certain months like June for beach reads or December for holiday reads, so maybe it’s something like that.
