Liquid iron is what turns any bahia into a beautiful thick green grass with Florida's sandy soil. It's cheap and you can buy it at home depot that attaches to your water hose. And best of all, it will not burn the grass, regardless of how much you use.

Folks have used liquid iron or sometimes acid-forming products to make Fe more available to bahiagrass and they DO typically get a green-up effect, but past field research has demonstrated that it had no effect on growth, particularly in forage systems. This is particularly true during spring green-up, when we often observe more yellowing events. Many of the commercial Fe products will not likely harm bahiagrass and you even might get temporary green-up. However, if you have repeated trouble with yellowing grass (of any type), contact your local county extension agent for more information, since several conditions may contribute to yellowing symptoms.
