Jumping Masterclass - 4 Show Jumping Exercises For Beginners | UK Equestrian YouTuber

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

In the third of our Horse & Country Masterclass series, we'll be following the showjumping masterclass of Imogen Murray. Watch a Pro Rider explain and demonstrate 4 easy jumping exercises to try with your horse and then see how Ted and I adapt that for our own riding level and needs. These jumping exercises are particularly good for horses that rush (like Ted) or for horses who need to be more reactive to your leg.

I think this is such a good excersice for my boy (and me) We can't do flying changes wich we are working on in our flatwork trainings but everytime we have to go in trot to change canter and we aren't in good rythm before the next jump because he is slow when I want him to go into canter, like from walk to trot he does well but from trot to canter he reacts late and has terrible rythm the first few strides, so we knock over the fence. This will really help getting him quicker of my leg

I have a horse exactly like yours, he’s now 25. I would like to make a suggestion. When you use your hands back it up with 2 x leg pressure. Also, what helped mine was teaching him to go on a loose rein and stretching. That helped calm him down. A horse with a low head can’t be on adrenaline. Hope this helps. Just another rider with same problems as you.

Hello Rhi, thank you for sharing your and Ted’s take of the Masterclass session. I found it very interesting to watch your video and experience of doing the exercises as an everyday « non-professional » rider. Thank you and I shall be trying these with my horse next time. We’re you using your Pivo Silver to fill your session?
