Thank you for the nice demonstration. I ordered my jumper T18 pro from Defiance RC only today and it is on its way the same day. Great service and they have some available still. I had waited over a month from another supplier and cancelled that order. I am hoping it will mate with some of my other aircraft and drones so I don't have so many transmitters. lol. Your demo saved me from the temptation of opening it up and peeking at the inside. I hope it has a good manual and cables in case it needs some updates etc. I will be interested if you have more information on it in the future. Happy Flying

I want to buy one of these 5-in-1 modules. They work perfectly inside the Radiomaster. Plugs right in, R9 shows up. Tried it before giving away my T18. The only issue is the screw pattern, which can be worked around.

Do you know any way to fix the hissing speaker? Like add more filtering to the speaker cables or anything else?

Pawel, Thanks for the review. I have a T18 but don't plan to use the 915 mhz part of the 5 in 1 module. If I swap the 2 ipex connectors so I can use the SMA fitting on top for a proper 2.4 antenna do you think the horizontal 2.4 antenna on the back would be enough of a load on the 915 portion in case I would accidently turn on the 915 and not fry the module? Those gimbals are the Alps RDC90 versions, not the Hall sensor versions as in the T18 and T18 lite. The one under review is the T18 Pro version, not the regular T18. The 2.4GHz antenna position (horizontal) makes sense for model airplane flyers as they tend to fly much higher than race quad flyers do. Would have been nice though if it were external so that one could rotate it in the optimal position. ;-)

Hi, very good video! Do you think that the metal roller on the Radiomaster TX16S will work on the Jumper T18 transmitter which has a plastic one?

I’m getting the radiomaster tx16s, to me, after watching quite a few reviews, I believe that it’s a better radio overall.

@Pawel Spychalski - How hard would it be modify (swap) the antennas make the 2.4ghz external and 900mhz internal? What about if you want to use crossfire can you use the 900mhz Jumper built in antenna intended for R9? Thanks!

quite easy. You only need a different SMA pigtail and that's all. Wort case scenario for 900MHz antenna is just 7,8cm of copper wire

This is as easy as you say. You'll want to run a 900mhz antenna or dummy load on that part of the module, just in case you ever turn it on.

Apparently, R9 has significant market penetration. Enough to derail Jumper slightly and knock this radio out of focus. I am adding crossfire to using FrSky on a T16 that has been fine, new ribbon cables waiting in a bag. So T18? erm... The internal antenna? Both the encoder and the antenna seem fixable but are annoying at this price. I hope the gimbals are good on the T12 Pro. because the T12+ is my current favorite. Thanks Pawel.

If it can't run R9M Flex. It's useless basically...868mhz EU LBT is terrible, even using a genuine FrSky Module...but 868 MHz Flex is another story......The internal 2.4g antenna is a sick joke TBH.

Did you see the shit storm I helped cook up over the dodgy SD card reader? I think the SWR on the standard 900mhz antenna is crazy high. Was getting nasty interference on the analogue inputs when using that part of the module, resolved by putting an aftermarket tuned antenna on there. I am really liking the radio, but it has some jumper-esque touched to it.

Wrap a thin piece of tape around the end of the shaft of the roller.. problem solved. They probably measured for a different encoder.

You don't have any idea what you're talking about do you? You've got the pro version with RDC90 gimballs, meaning that they're not hall efect. Instead, they have high quality alps potentiometer sensors installed.

I have mine for a few days, I bought the normal t18. I have two complains about it, the hissing sound (specially with low brightness) and roller should be more premium feeling. About the 900 antenna, I'm thinking about install another antenna for the 2.4 near the 900 one or remove it completely. I use crossfire and 2.4 frsky receivers. If the lite version had the carbon front that would be the winner for me

Er macht iwas mit PHP in Berlin. Hier isses fast normal das man sich nur übers TicketSystem "unterhält" und dann meistens in eng.

Actually it's backend Java, REST APIs, banking system, that kind of crap. and since almost nobody speaks german at work, nobody speaks german and my skills are just fine to do what I have to do in restauants

my only moan is the hissing speaker.
