    Great interview. Awesome to see he is still blading and keeping up with some of the newer players like Jay Yoon and Zack Savage. I did not know he was associated with mushroom blading, makes me appreciate his skating even more.

    Been waiting for a long time for Dre! That 270 back cowboy in closer (not sure) is still one of my favourite tricks. King of style!

    My first memory of seeing Dre in a video was in the VG12 BMC1 Carolinas section. I’ll never forget the 270 front sav he did on that handicap rail. First time I ever saw that trick I think 💥

    One of the traits of the true icons is there’s no need to put the name at the bottom because you know who it is as soon as they show up on screen-Dre’s always had that🙏. I was working during the live show but I would’ve asked about the roof to live power line pic from the Dre vs Dunkle interview in DB🤷‍♂️

    cool epiaode guys! 💗 ...but lemme just say: FUCK the olympics!!!! we do not belong there at all! perhaps speedskating, highjump or some slalom and slides could go olympic but artforms can't be measured with points.

    I was thinking that during the conversation also and we spoke about that on the podcast before too how I never understood how judging worked with asa or x games back in the day. Like when someone got an 87.78 as a score, wtf does that mean???

  • @scottaragon2498
    @scottaragon2498Ай бұрын

    Probably the most overrated skater to get a skate under his name. Never understood why and how was he able to get his own skate when there were so many highly deserved skaters who had the trick vocab and reigns to deserve but one thing I have noticed about Dre is that he can talk himself into many things but eventually caught up. I mean, just think about it, how long did it take for Billy O'Neill to get a skate and it wasnt even for Razors?? My points exact.

    There's a lot more to getting a pro skate than just skill level. For a long time, Dre was flat out better than the majority of bladers. But it took a while for him to actually get a pro skate, and in that time period, skating itself got crazier and crazier, and yea, a lot of bladers surpassed Dre skill wise. BUT like I said, there's much more to getting a pro skate than just where your skill level is at. Style, being recognizable, being likable, being influential, being professional, PAYING YOUR DUES, all mixed with skill level. That's being marketable

    Ya I can’t really say it better than @zekwilt said it. If you can 540 soyale but you look the same as the next guy who can 540 soyale, how can you sell anything? Dre stood out, and by all accounts he was the best ambassador, period, in terms of hanging out at demos, comps etc.
