Jump n Carry's JNC 1224 is what we have in our Deuce. It replaced the older jump box we had that wore out. This "portable" jump box works well for 12 and 24V systems and has jump-started our Deuce a few times. It does weigh about 40lbs, though.

Great Deuce video!! almost thought you sold the old truck. Slave cables are alot better than messing with jumper cables. Thats why you need a backup deuce.

Just hook up a chain to buddy’s truck in pull. Pop start in 2nd. Works every time.

Most old heavy equipment has a nightswitch for the battery to cut power off to the rest of the machine. Works pretty good to preserve battery power.

we put a heavy duty switch from NAPA between the batteries on ours. A "night switch" for sure. Works well to keep the batteries from running out when it sits.

Jump started mine. Winter up north always kills my batteries even with the battery disconnect switch and it barely being used. Anyways I just take my truck or car and hook up jumper cables on one battery like jump starting a normal car and after a few minutes it's good to go or a day like today when it's really cold, in a rush and it's stone dead I hooked up 2 sets of cables, one set on each battery going to 2 different vehicles and it lights right off and is ready to go

Most aircraft are 24 volt. Tow it to the airport and hook up to the start cart. Or maybe just keep your batteries charged and ready. I do.

Interesting. Now I'm researching to see if I can shoehorn a set of landing lights into the Deuce's headlight buckets.

I thought about that but I have no idea how the two jumpers would work with each other. With my luck one would probably melt the other one.

OK so now put two of those jump packs in series and across the outer terminals of those two batteries and disconnect the batteries if very low from the truck click boost on both and then start it… you must then connect the batteries back together quickly before the jump packs shut off… when the jump packs shut off the engine may die

I thought about getting creative with it but then remembered that Deuce starters are over $500 which is about 100 times more than the video made.

For a 24 volt jump box, get a matching pair of common 12 volt units. Connect each one to ONE of your milsurp truck batteries, turn it all on and activate the starter motor circuit. Alternatively, get a hand truck, strap a pair of 12 volt batteries to it with a bridge cable between them, and use short conventional jumper cables to jump your milsurp truck.

Out of curiosity what insurance company would you recommend for a Deuce? I got my eyes on one and I want to be able to drive the mess out of that truck without worrying about insurance. I got state farm for my pickup, but I 'm not sure if they would insure a Deuce.

So I know I'm probably going to sound like an idiot but I really want to get a deuce and a half but the pain in the butt is it's not a daily driving kind of vehicle you don't just go on your daily driving but I want one because you know I wanted to be a truck driver when I was younger and this is the closest thing that I can get to a semi without having to go to school because trust me I'm done with human beings altogether so I've got this dilemma do I get a deuce and a half fix it up get it all looking pristine for just a daily driving just a piss people off or do I get one just to run away in my garage and then only drive it like twice a month
