Pretty good option, I carry a separate compressor and jump starter... and 110 powerpack. and fix a flat.. lots of tools, mud boots, spare jack .chainsaws . and guns... lol and water..

It starts hard because all of the fuel evaporates out of the float bowl. Get yourself an electric fuel pump to replace the mechanical pump. Give the carburetor a prime before you try to start it. Todays fuels are extremely evaporative.

I thought it was that too, but I've even dumped a little gas to carburetor and tried ether when it wouldn't start a different times. So it's not fuel but I did get an electric fuel pump too

No, it's electric ignition, it gets spark when not starting. I've heard it's the lifters that have to pump up when sitting a while but that don't make sense either lol
Old one had a fan, new one doesn't? I liked the fan.

Longer and HEAVIER leads from booster to battery. That's a lot of amperage flowing. But a nice little unit.

I do remember cars like that, I believe there was one in the backseat of the big Oldsmobile four-door I forget the name of the car but had a 455 rocket in it!
