Hi Martha, it is to hot here to melt wax. So decided to pass on some openings this month, though I do have a list for Lavender and Speckles.

That makes complete sense. You don't need more heat in the house from warmers when it's so hot. I was away on vacation and picked the perfect week to leave because it was over the 100 mark for several days. Typically it will be in the 80's during the summer so this was a bit much, but I managed to miss most of it because I was in Colorado where it was quite beautiful this past week. I don't even want to look at L&S because I'm afraid I'll be tempted.

I usually include a theme that's seasonal, and then I would try to warm through a vendor that I have a few blends left, or say finish all my scent shots, something like that. I usually put 1 loaf, a few scoops, and a few candles in the basket too just so I don't neglect them.

I have a melting basket but I usually only melt from it on the weekdays only and the weekends I just melt whatever I want. Usually I pull my oldest wax or scents i need to use up due to space haha. I organize them in groups of scents I’ll melt together so it’s easy to when I go to switch out. I store my wax by scent category so I only have summer scents out now and then fall/winter is in a big tote. Once it gets towards the end of the season I’ll go through and put anything I want to focus on finishing this year in my melting basket. I try not to have anything longer than a year so I’ll pull the older stuff or stuff that I have just small chunks of. Then the rest of that season goes into my large tote to store for next year.

So funny you mention Heather Thomas. Last summer we were cleaning out Brad's moms house and she had kept all of his posters from his teen years. She had them nicely rolled up and one of them was of Heather Thomas. We kept all of them. Just couldn't get rid of them.

That sounds like a great combo. I'll have to see if I have any Kakui & Coconut. I might have one left. Evening Sky reminded me a bit like Dashing which I really like but it was on the light side. I have Black Tie Affair in my club just in case I fall in love with it. Thanks for the mix suggestion!

Knowles Beach Evenings is, I'm going to say it, I think better than SGA 😮 . I'm obsessed with it!! I too struggle with Dessas 😢. But that's ok, one less vendor to contend with LOL. Great basket my friend!

I'm trying to find a balance between melting old and also keeping it seasonal with a dash of a few newer scents

Hey Martha! This is such a great melting basket! Yes I love Dessa’s Strawberry Zucchini Streusel…so much that I’m getting a loaf in her next opening! I really hope it performs for you. I’m also enjoying midnight rain this month! My method for my melting basket is normally going through each drawer and pulling a little bit based on whatever sounds good at the moment, how long I’ve had the wax and if I’m trying to make room for a preorder 😅

i’m commenting as you are mentioning suncastles, they said it’s a Sol de janerio dupe.. I️ don’t know if you are familiar with that body care line. I’d say they both don’t exactly smell the same but definitely are scent cousins. On warm to me it leans more bakery and i’d assume it’s that almond note.

Yes I am familiar and I can see that. It's been a while since I've smelled the body care line. I almost warmed it after work but I want to warm it when I'm going to get the most time spent with it. Maybe this weekend. Thanks for commenting and watching!
