I wish they had included Caesar 'repaying the kindness' of the pirates when he returned with a force to capture them. And, I can only wonder how many on the set for Sulla's death were thinking 'dear God, don't let this be real'.

Now, there is a question. Apalonius: "Freedom is not something you can be given. It is something you have to take." This may not be entirely true. If you are told that you no longer have any obligation to an authority - that your choices are your own - then you are "free". Obviously you then have to accept that freedom.

I was disappointed Sulla was not sitting in a Sulla chair... Some research showed that the the furniture masters, e.g. Louis Masreliez in Sweden (for the court & King Gustav III) & Georges Jacob in France, were inspired by Greek klismos chairs and Roman senators' chairs. But i can not find any reference that Sulla ever sat in a Klismos / Sulla chair....Or did he?) I remember an antique, preserved Roman bronze Klismos chair (from Pompeii? Herculaneum?) that was supposed to have been the original... I can't find it now. Very Royal chairs, never the less.. Area Sacra de Largo Argentina (along Corso Vittorio Emannuelle Ii), is the archeological site of the old senate, including the stairs were Ceasar were killed. Around 1 city block, 4 meters below street level, privately owned, not open to the public. But you can certainly look down on it.... And see it, with very high resolution, in Google Earth....
