Julien Cudot - B-ROLL (Heads-up)

HEADS-UP B-roll
In January 2022 i started a skatepark project including the highest level ive ever reached in park for now : Heads-up
Here is the 20 minutes non edited process, behind the scenes of it.
Below, the story of whole project again.
Since i came back from my acl injury in 2020 and went back agressive skating full mode, i often find myself in Nantes at Le hangar skatepark.
I imagined more and more big trick there without doing even one.
However i decided i would do a very high level video there one day .
Coming back from South America end of January 2022, i was in good shape and took the decision to get this thing done, fast.
I organised a 6 days trip in Nantes with my old time friend Cedric Freire De Araujo as a cameraman .
At this time, i tought it would be done in 5 days of skating in a row, nonetheless i wasn't sure about final releasing mode of the video.
Pretty fast through the week, i understood it would take more stays there to record all i planned, that it would be tough to film it all with iphone and that i'd surely not be selling it.
Knowing i still managed to stack 3 or 4 good tricks from my initial list, i remained relatively optimist and satisfy
Back in Paris, i asked Thomas Dalbis with whom i was editing my south america videos if he was keen on taking part of the project and come with us next time.
He was juiced and the three of us went back there pretty fast.
I started to land some of the biggest tricks on my list with a fair rending thanks to Thomas, his gear and Cedric.
After this trip way more productive, Thomas became the official cameraman and editor of the project and we decided to release it by vod.
Two more trips were added, counting 4 in total among one blank.
The last trip was an emotional one, i landed as first trick of the first day the biggest trick from my list. Trick i had many doubts about his doability and his dangerousness.
Then the second day after a productive session, i saw for the first time the end and i rushed in one of the last line to shoot ;
i was instantly called to order and took a gnarly fall which ended the trip and the whole project, finally.
Le Hangar is a much present skatepark in my construction as a skater.
From the closure of my local Parisian skatepark RollerPark Avenue to The Gladiator contest until Nantes Roller Festival it is;
childhood memories with my bests friends Thomas Bouleau, Jérôme Sindicas, Alexy Massip and Baptiste Urbain.
It's a factor in my transition from good kid to pro kid.
Its world firsts and unclassed tricks from the worlds bests skaters like Stephane Alfano, Mathias Silhan or Jeremy Mélique more recently.
And this is the most iconic contest, never equaled; The Gladiator Contest,
big up Stéphane Leuchie ;) .
For all these reasons and especially for what i've done there, i am happy to show you this video and here the behind the scenes of it.
Heads-up vod contient / Heads-up includes :
-la bande annonce / trailer
-la vidéo principal montée d'une durée de 5 minutes / main 5minutes video edit
-une vidéo de 20 minutes sans musique défilant les images dans l'ordre
chronologique du début a la fin du tournage
/ 20 minutes B-roll in chronological order
-17 photos en hq relatant mes sessions au hangar / 17 high quality photos

I bet these clips make CH want to skate even!!!
The amount of effort, and commitment to nail these hammers are insane. That bio out of the vert , damn!
Whaat??? How could this be even possible. This guy took more hits on the bones than Travis Pastrana. Also builds the anxiety at 99% watching these clips... Awesome effort, it's like Takeshi Yasutoko and Chris Haffey had a son

Lol, Cudot's kids should meet Pastrana's kids (okay I'm done future forecasting). Cheers y'all. Best B-roll behind the scenes I've seen (duck it all). ;)
I almost fainted when I watched this video 😵💫👍
Vraiment un talent fou. Mais je sais qu'il y a aussi beaucoup d'acharnement et de force derrière chaque tricks

Absolutely insane!! Cudot is so fun to watch
Amazing, as always !! 😏🤙🏽🔥🔥🔥
Oh Jesus Christ I know it'd be all but impossible for another human being to skate that park with the same skill, dedication, (duck it) precision and relentlessness as you AND! is that coping on the back of the vert good for a high speed transfer and 20 to 30 foot grind? Asking for a friend! Much love. Kill'n it as always!!!
A level from another planet ! This is an example where skating has no limits, this video is a great example that skating is the most spectacular sport in the world.
The GOAT ! 👏👏👏
I think julien has the cheat code for spinning and no fear turned on 😂

Thanks be to gawd.
"Put4in!! Ohlala!" The script is succinct but the special effects are great. Is this James Cameron?
I want the videos of him getting mad at not being able to turn water into wine.
😈😈😈
Cette espèce de projet de zinzin !!
Could we PLEASE get some english subtitles for the inbetween bits and banter? 😄 Love your skating and dedication, it's just insane

Assuming you’re asking who is better. Cudot has been better than Broskow for years but all of his efforts are surfacing heavily now. Not saying Broskow is bad but Cudot is light years beyond Broskow

Cudot is pretty much the best rollerblader in the world at the kind of skating he does. and he sacrifice a lot to be that, in something were there is a lot of pain...and not much monetary gain, he's up there. Broskow....is a lot better than he puts on, I think he's afraid of injury so he takes it easy these days, but you might want to go back and look at his older stuff KFC days etc, even the valo days. They are both really good...But Cudot, I'd compare him more to Haffey tbh, wouldn't compare him to Broskow. Cudot and Haffey skate similar kind of stuff and push those really dangerous lines...They are both really good at transition, air's...flips and spins etc but both can drop some insane street hammers and get very technical, But what about Roman Abrate? See these conversations are hard to have because there is so much great talent in rollerblading. These days Broskow shows off more of his tech wizardry, and he pretty much lead the pack in this more creative low impact technical precision style of skating, but Joe Atkinson is coming up on Broskow fast when it comes to that kind of skating . Broskow...idk where to put him, but as far as if there was a top 10 skaters list...all mentioned would be in it for sure. That's a really hard discussion because you can't leave Montre out of that, as Montre does a little of a lot of what all these guys I mention do...He can do the air, flippy spinny stuff, he can do like the creative tech wizard stuff....but he can also still do hammers. So yeah, very tough discussion here...because then you can ask "what about Nick Lomax?"...and go on and on with the names. I think there is a top 10 of RIGHT NOW skaters and everybody I mentioned here is in that 10. Julien, I'd put him in top 5 for sure, if not the number 1 spot...but I've always felt like that about him ever since I first seen him years ago before he got as good as he is now, I love his skating and how nimble and light on his feet he is with everything he does.

@@derrickholzhey9685 Bro when were you in NC? Your name is not familiar to me but I was stationed out there at Camp Lejeune and used to get around all over the place to skate in NC, I met Casey Wilson who's an amazing person and rollerblader...but through him I met so many people out there, Montre...Dre Powell, Phillip Gripper and a bunch of other NC guys, skated with Billy O'neil when he visited, Stefan Brandow used to live there at the time not sure if he still does. Then after I got out of the military I moved back west to WY, and got up with a lot of Colorado heads...my main guy was Smiley who is from out east but he lives in Ft Collins. Anyways, I met so many people I wonder if I ever skated with you in NC we used to have really big sessions in Charlotte and Raleigh, sometimes Fayetteville, between 07-11. Growing up in Colorado the scene was small and tight knit, but In NC...I met more rollerbladers than I could handle lol.
