Truly terrifying is that, at one point or another, we all wanted to stay--and perhaps a piece of us always will. The haunting part of hell at your back is when you dare a glance back its right there. The gripping beauty of sadness is unknowable yet everyone who has walked through it empathizes. Brokenness is only stunning when you have conquered it and then you get to realize what you had to give up to move forward.

Julien is a national treasure.

I think the second line might be “That tell us how old we are” - like the rings when you cut a disc from a tree trunk.
