That's a bit harsh. What a wicked sister. They should encourage new nurses, not belittle them . She'll do well in management

That's the whole point of the scene; an appraisal is pointing out the positives and the negatives about someone's progress. She was happy with her attitude with the patients but she was not so happy with her attitude with the nurses above her. And she also broke the rules concerning allowing a patient to eat something he wasn't supposed to. Hospital is a very serious and responsible profession and sisters want to be sure that their nurses do well. She even said that her criticism was because she saw great potential in her as a nurse.
