I'm playing a Kevin Enoch Dobson Model banjo with a brass spun rim. The banjo is tuned aDADE (Double C Tuning tuned up to D).
Enjoy! I admittedly speed up a bit in this one...and bob my head a lot per usual.

This is criminally underwatched. You are a superb player! If I can play half as well in my lifetime I'll consider it an accomplishment.

Criminal. Couldn't agree more. I'd play it 1,000 times a week myself if there weren't so many interruptions to tend to.

Beautiful.
I am always conscious of my tempo. But, speeding up because you find yourself in the tune is not a bad thing. 5 gold stars, friend!
This is amazing. I'm just getting started with clawhammer banjo and this is really inspiring!
Your videos reminds me all of the good days I miss when I'm sad or mad I like to watch your videos love your guys as bemy BFF 😘
GOT IT!! Played along with this vid on and off for the past couple days and I can now perform it. Not as well as Brad here, but very passable. Gonna roll it out tonight at a local old time jam I go to. YeeHaaa...
I heard this tune for the first time at an old time fiddler jam last week, and was able to strum along on my banjo, easy chord progression to pick up. But I came home determined to learn this tune, and found this great performance. I've got the basics of it, but the embellishments in this vid are just GREAT. I'm hoping to pick up some of them myself, and I agree with others, it's a shame more people haven't found this. But then, I also know that old time string music has limited appeal in the Wide Wide World of Hip Hop and pop music. Sigh.. thank you, Brad, for an EXCELLENT video.
Awesome...!! The groove soulfully
Really enjoyed that, thank you!
Man you are smooth!!! thanks for making my day.
Brad you are a blessing! Thank you
Mate, this is fire! Thank you so much for the inspiration!
One the best versions I've heard yet, nicely played Thanks
Man you have it down, excellent!
Simply brilliant good sir! :)
Beautiful!!
Awesome!
Wow!..mind blown.
Like the high break. Now I have to learn it.
Beautiful rhythm….lovely.
Way cool, I could listen to you play all day... and I think I will. :)
Excellent!
Old-time head-bob FTW ;) Awesome as usual.
very nice sounds
Man this is just sweeeeet! too much to comment on, really brilliant ideas
Superb!
Excellent banjo-picking!
Very very cool and tasteful rendition. one of my favorites!!
Really nice! The bright melody really comes through because of the masterful handling of the background intricacies. And I know it ain't easy keeping a steady rhythm the way you're doing. Just super.
Tremendous!
Fantastic! I see the 6 thumbs down clicks up there, and think..."Who hurt those people?" You are an excellent player!! Love playing this on mando, and don't have half of your clawhammer chops. Gotta get working on it. Thanks for sharing!
Nice Job!
Excellent
Wish I could play like that
I love this tune. Brilliant.

Wow Brad, I thought I could play this tune until I just heard what can be done with it...👍
I bet you'd even play when there is no one to listen - xept for yourself. Thx for letting us listen !
Well-articulated version of Julianne Johnson! I’m learning a simpler version, but am struggling with my drop thumb technique. I haven’t been able yet to make it consistently smooth. How would you suggest I go about perfecting my drop thumb technique?
You dat mountain over there.... one of these days ima climb dat mountain
🌼
great rendition. what tuning are you using? thanks.
From Japan‥ ナイス グルーウ゛ ですね。感動しました。
12 or 11 inch head? I once had a Tradesman 12" & have wondered about getting an 11 inch.
What tuning are You using I have a 4 string fretless banjo I use ,I like that tune there

Gary Cowger If your still interested its a double “C”. At least that’s what I worked out to be.
Is this the Enoch Dobson with a different head than it used to have? Or a different banjo?

It's a different banjo. I have two Enoch Dobsons - one with a skin head and a maple rim and one with a renaissance head and spun brass rim (this one).

Oh cool! Gotcha! Do you find you prefer one over the other?
So...am I the only one who's noticed the glow in the dark spiders hanging behind his head??
How many banjos do you have?
Do you give online lessons?
