Julian's right, everything about Orkney is impressive, and i found myself never wanting to leave there, promising, as he did, to return. Maes Howe and the Ring of Brodgar/Stones of Stenness - they all live in a wonderful landscape, and yes, i did say live. If you can visit, go around Midsummer for truly magical times...
