Daryl was good in that. Otherwise she is a terrible actress. I can't believe Neil Young married her.

I like how she still had a bit of a southern accent.

Its so funny to watch this old show. By reading Julia's body language, it seems she feels like this little known, 2nd or 3rd tier actress, all tight and nervous for being invited on this big, big shot's show. Who would knew back than, only two years later, after "Pretty Woman", roles will switch. Ever after, it will be the greatest and prettiest actress of the world, blessing with her appearance Letterman's late night comedy show - one of many. Someone wrote in comments below saying back than she was still young and hot. I feel she still very much is. Matter of fact, I considering her one of the prettiest woman which ever existed.

Look at 6:48 and onwards... the way she is starring at Dave, and when he called her lovely, she seemed to get lost and flustered

I gotta' give it to Medalion. He nailed it. I noticed that too,-- exactly where he marked it! Yeah, Julia thinks that Dave is kind of ignoring her, playing it off like she ain't all that. But she knows the reality of it and what it 'might' mean, when she picks up on it she laughs. There is another video of her on Letterman where she actually confirms that she called Dave after this first appearance to see if he wanted to escort her to an awards show. When she relates the whole story to him his reaction is pretty priceless. Let's just say he was never notified by staff that she called! He was never given the message! Ouch.

I'm in awe of how mature and lovely Julia Roberts was at 22? or 23? It's amazing!

I love Julia! One of the things that has been consistent with her all these years is that she gets along with all of her female costars. Still friends with Sally Field and Shirley MacLaine and of course Daryl. Also friends with Cameron Diaz and Natalie Portman. Now Meryl etc.

No way. Darryl ALWAYS acts with class. I don't even care about her acting as much as she deserves respect as a human being in the judgmental spotlight. She cares about what's happening with other people and she's a genuine, thoughtful introverted character who tries very well to be discreet in public spaces.

Julia finished filming "Pretty Woman" a couple of weeks before this appearance on Letterman.

Not to mention how fresh the network is acting as well. Seems a little bit freer back then.

In the later part of the clip they must be talking about that Debbie Gibson perfume that came out around that time. I was in 6th grade and the girls in my class wore it. It was this synthetic, sickly sweet scent that could make a person lightheaded after a while. In other words, the smell of the mall over Christmas break 1989. Julia looked great though.

It’s because she has a mild form of autism. Also women on the autism spectrum have an easier time masking their symptoms more than men on the autism spectrum.

So? Jay was one of his most frequent guests in the 80s. Marv Albert was first. Richard Lewis was second...and I would bet Jay was 3rd or 4th. Maybe Jack Hanna was ahead of him

Yes, she was filming Sleeping with the Enemy in South Carolina, the carnival scene. And she told a sweet local reporter to 'go diddle a corn dog' when asked politely if she'd answer a couple of questions. And the reporter ran off crying. True story. How do I know? My stepmother was the reporter :( .

They both are. Clear male anatomy posture walk sitting etc. They learned more as time went on to disguise and be more feminine. Look at Sandra Bullock earliest movies also, much more obvious. I love Sandra Bullock btw as I used to love Daryll Hannah. Sandra has bullocks, Daryll is a Daryll Julie is a Robert.

They got in trouble for talking about that hide and seek game. It’s stuff that occult people do. Her whole demeanor changed when she looked at him.

Daryl Hannah could have been a better "Pretty Woman" than Julia Roberts. There's no way Roberts could be credible as a prostitue, she is not sexy or mysterious. Hannah could have done a great great job.
