I am a single mom. I do not date. I have been divorced for 9 years now. My kid will be grown in a few years and at that time I will think about dating. My kid has actually come first. If she needs me I am always there. No one has my attention other than her. I am not distracted. Her dad is also that committed. She does not have the drama of fighting parents or parents treating her like a weapon, a burden or not important. She is well rounded and has told me that she is thankful after seeing her friends get torn apart.

I know many do not agree with it but I only have one chance to raise my daughter. I just did not want to lose time with her for men that mean a whole lot less than she does. I also did not want her dad to feel unwelcome to come over and visit her anytime. We vacation, holiday, birthday and spend most weekends together we just can’t stand living in the same house. She is making good choices and she does not take any crap from the few boys she has dates thus far. Thank you for your kind words and I hope you find healing. Our parents did not know or did not care how badly they hurt us. We have to now care enough about ourselves to make up for their wrong doings.

I’m a single mom of a 3 year old and the immense guilt I feel because I have to take my child to day care while I attend university eats me alive. Honestly Kanye leveled Kim’s fashion style up. Like let’s not pretend that before Kanye Kim was a very respected person in the fashion industry. She wasn’t welcomed at the Met Gala and she was literally named the worst dressed celebrity before Kanye changed her fashion style while Kanye was named the best dressed male celebrity. Her style after she met Kanye was truly much better. Most celebrities have a personal stylist hers happened to be Ye Like he explained what that assault was actually about it was paparazzi harassing him

Kim looked so much better before ye, she dressed more classic and things that suited her. Ye had her wearing the ugliest clothes I've ever seen. She looked like a colorblind person that worked at a garbage landfill and wore the discarded pieces she found there

Here comes a really long comment: I used to be that girl who thought she existed to find a man, and that the man would be her means to getting what she wanted. A dream man did swoop in and save me, but it turned out he was a narcissist who met me at a time when I was without boundaries. After one whole year of love bombing, he left me, taking almost all of me with him. Why did he leave? Long story short, I told him I was capable of leaving him. I stood up for myself and refused to let him gaslight me. And that was that. For a good couple of months after he disappeared from my life, I didn’t know how to exist in society and previously this hadn’t been an issue. I felt like a baby deer learning how to walk while surrounded by potential hunters. I had become completely conscious of myself for the first time in my life. It felt like the skin had been stripped from my body. I was more than naked. I was raw. More than six months later, I’m still healing from the insidious abuse, but I the good part is that I’ve finally realized how unhealthy it is to be “saved.” How the saver has their own set of issues. How they’re taking advantage of your instability and likely naïveté. How the power dynamic is at the crux of the relationship and if it shifts - if you heal and grow apart from their intentions for you - they’re not happy for you. They leave you. Onward they march to rescue someone who is still lost, someone who can make them feel like the hero they crave to be. I’ve learned how to be a whole person on my own. For the first time in years, I was able to enjoy the holidays without a man by my side and felt zero regret or FOMO. I’m now able to see engagement announcements and baby posts and not contort them into personal attacks against me and all that I lack. I’ve even detached myself from my assumption that I desire to have children. My whole life has been influenced by narcissists, so now, I’m completely dedicated to getting to know myself and making my life all about me. That’s all I want right now. Not a man or anyone to rescue me. I want me. ❤️

I have fallen into this trap before and it was 100% running from a bad situation. Setting boundaries is so important. Me and my fiancé were going through some stuff and just couldn’t come to a middle ground. He looked at me and was like do just need to have some time to yourself like a bath or get your nails done. At first my thought was what a misogynistic thing to say but I was like actually yes those both sound amazing. We were like let’s just take a break from this and we can come back with a clearer head. To be honest at the time I was overworked and not taking time for me.

I'm so sorry that no one seemed to care about what happened to you. I've been shocked to find out that even the people closest to me don't care that someone is trying to scam me out of my inheritance. It sucks. But like you said, it's made me much stronger. Since no one cares about me, I don't need to please ANYONE or take care of ANYONE but myself and my kids. That's freeing both emotionally, relationship-wise, and in the real world.

@@klickingkayasmr7585 eh, I feel like a lot of people w kids like to say that to somehow claim their assumed superiority over those w/o kids, while failing to see exactly what you've just said, that this selflessnes rarely reaches further than their offspring 🤷‍♀️

I'm going through some shit with one of my son's he is 22 and has 2 kids to 2 different girls and my first grandson is my world but my sons gf now hates my grandson's mom for no reason actually and I get a long with his mom great. She loves my relationship with my grandson but the gf now had a bad almost four months ago and keeps her from me to totally break my spirit. So she has put a wedge between me and my son and it's frickin hard. I NEVER thought this would happen with me and my son. You have helped me look at things in a different way so thank you for that. I just adore you

Hey Shallon I've been in a controlling "dictatorship for past 12yrs, I was sexually assaulted tho 1yr ago by a neighbour of mine, this left me spiritually broken and mire vulnerable than Eva, my boyfriend firstly hit me when he found out then said that he'd get me through it by thinking for me making all my desictions and blamed me for what happened saying I put myself in certain situations, excuse I was so low I actually believed him ( that it was my fault) he's actually in prison now and trying to run my life still and rings me upto 5 times a day to make sure to keep me in line. I think I would need hell of a lot of counselling to shed the skin of my relationship ( dictatorship) plus the assault. I always thought tho "ah well he loves me, he cares for me but I know I'm just his possession he's told me that outright I am living HIS life I should use this time now that he's in prison to sort myself out Nd get my life together

Controlling men have like a playbook. Just like Shallon's professor said the clothes it's a dead on giveaway. My controlling ex would give me clothes as "gifts" and it was exactly that. Tuttle neck sweaters and not my style at all. I would cry because it would become a fight because I took it at the time as "you don't know me" when it was him trying to cover me up. I'm insecure about my body but still! I have the least controlling and most supportive man as a husband now. (Don't take as he's perfect. Me neither. We argue sometimes) and one time for fun, I told him I wanted to wear something he would like to see me in, we would have a date night and I'd wear a dress he'd buy for me. He got me 2. One is super tight and the other one has a deep cleavage lol.

I wear used to wear a lot of silver jewelry, like excessively stacked, chunky silver jewelry. Lots of it. My boyfriend at the time, only bought me dainty, yellow gold jewelry. Earrings, necklaces, bracelets etc…ALL yellow gold. He was always paranoid that I would cheat and he even had me followed once. He was working out of town and had a friend of his follow me out on a girls night. I was seen hugging a male friend I ran into and instantly got a screaming phone call from my boyfriend. Another fun evening he calmly walked over to me in the kitchen, grabs my arm and aggressively leads me into the bathroom. He points in the shower (my long dark hairs stuck in the drain) and demands I “fix it”. Made me feel like Julia Roberts in “sleeping with the enemy”. Needless to say I left.

@@Pinkles666 I'm sorry you went through that stress!!! We can peobably share stories for hours lol. Same guy I mentioned once believed I lied to him because he dreamt it!! I sometimes feel embarrassed I was there for so long. But we left and they are someone else's problem now!!

It’s a big tell! If it’s a gift it’s something tied to the person’s own style that you know they would like. The point with a gift is for the other one to feel seen and valued and not for the gift giver to change the other one (if they try to change you then it’s not a gift but control).

I kinda got the message that she was using him a little too. He legitimized Kim in a way she wants him to do with her. I wouldn’t mind a style upgrade by Kanye for free. She could be just playing her cards
