She is the best-selling author of more than fourty books, fiction and nonfiction; a poet, songwriter, filmmaker and playwright. Doug O'Brian turned me to this and I love the Morning Pages. Not knowing about the Morning Pages, in the past, when I could not stop my thoughts about something that really disturbed me, I would write super fast and "drain" all that clutter out of my head and into the papers and then shred them. It worked great.

I've loved doing morning pages ever since The Artists Way came out. I write down contrast I'm having as well as doing scripting and a gratitude list. I no longer focus on the negatives and focus on the positives. This took intense work on my part.

Do you, by chance, use commas? Try, if you will, inserting appropriately placed commas? It could "do something" to your thoughts.
