Finally a reader who understands the importance of the graphics and color scheme in Verne's works. Comparison is a must. The cover by B&N is what got my attention, too. Sold!

So you get 7 of Jules Vernes story’s in that book. But are they like shorted? Because in believe that the mysterious island part is around 400 pages, and not just close to 150 pages. Or Am I just wrong here?

I've been wondering whether to get Jules Verne's books in English or in the original French. I do read both languages, but since I haven't really been able to find a French edition that I like and since this edition is so gorgeous, I'm leaning more towards the English version at this point. I read three of the books in this collection in French years ago and was wondering if getting the books in English would deviate too much from the original version. As a bilingual reader, what would you recommend?

Oh I have a lovely bookstore around the corner that sells books with these covers. Which ones can you recommend?

Hi Fish - please can you let me know where you buy your B&N classics from in the UK? Are they all from Amazon UK?

Bonjour Foolish Fish, I started collecting B&N books, I already received Dracula (same edition as yours), Chinese Myths and Folk Tales. also ordered The Han Solo Trilogy. I am very much interested in that Jules Verne edition also but as the book is quite big I was wondering if the spine of the book gets damaged overtime from reading it? Merci d'avance de ta réponse :)

How about the text... Is the English translation faithful to Verne's original French text?

What a pity they left out the illustrations. They are half the fun. I‘d rather buy several volumes than miss out on them.
