I don't understand why anime often features newly introduced characters that catch attention, but suddenly they are turned off in the story, just like this rengoku and junpei. every time they see them they want to cry because they are my favorite characters but they have to die silly and only appear briefly

cause jujutsu's world is cruel and unmerciful. not everything can be solved with words, and also words can be used to deceive and hurt along with actions. Mahito deceiving Junpei and taunting Itadori is the perfect example of it. Itadori is a good boy who had the bad luck of entering in a terrible place.

Rengoku is just a mere example so viewers can be waken up that even a hashira as strong as they are upper moon is more strong. So those hashiras struggling but still surviving is still expressive enough
